Dec. 14th, 2015 05:44 amSomeone I contacted told me that DLC for Freedom Planet remains available forever once it's released. Wish I had known that for any game, instead of hearing only of a select few with time-limited opportunities, but having already seen the official soundtrack on Steam for $6.99, I can't say I'm surprised.
In any case, while I'm still waiting to hear back from someone across GOG.com, I have decided just to download Jake's copy of the game onto my laptop. He had given me his account info to access it, and has also agreed to pay for the soundtrack and the Milla/Torque patch when it comes out (at the end of the month, according to Gabriella Creighton).
Jake has also expressed particular interest in a planned hot springs scene that I had elaborated on while updating Starbound's story outline and then shown him. While I plan to stick to schedule and get started with Minami's fic today, I should have time left over before Christmas to write at least the one scene (which is now part of a bigger chapter involving the iconic Mr. Saturn race and an equivalent event to Earthbound's that involved the meteorite and Buzz Buzz). That will be my Christmas gift to him, in return for a copy of that game and the respective DLC. (Not sure if Chelle will be interested, even if I end up writing about more than just the girls' bath, since she already admitted a few years ago having little interest in the story itself.)
(Added: Jake has just cleared things up after asking about it, saying that what's being distributed is actually a couple of update patches, meant in these cases to make the game more complete.)
