Jan. 8th, 2016 05:01 amAfter swapping the Lucky Star main series and OVA several times in my DVD drive and having to change the region setting each time, something popped up on my computer saying that if I change the region code one more time, it will become permanent even if I reinstall Windows. Decided from there to take screenshots of the main series from The Anime Place from now on, since that's about the only DVD series I own for outside Region 1 and is still available online to view at a decent size.
Even aside from that, I think the drive itself might be defective. Sometimes, a disk would boot right up, sometimes, it would do so after several tries, and sometimes, I had to do some troubleshooting before I could get my shit up and running. I experienced no such issues when running the OVA or any of the main-series disks on my regular player. It helps, though, that I hardly ever use that thing in general, and that I already have most of the whole series in both Japanese and English recorded on my laptop in case I need to take footage of anything.
