So, it turns out that when you copy from FanFiction.net and paste into the document creation window, it just converts everything into raw code. I had to ask Jake to send me the final drafts of Jamie and May's first chapters; the alternative would be to wait until I finally hit Brian's place again. And it's a good thing it's been years since I last updated anything, given how deeply all three fics have been buried at this point.

Gotta remember to copy such stuff into the editing window if I ever need to again.
