Feb. 4th, 2018 05:46 amOil burner broke down two nights ago, and Dad had to spend half of yesterday fixing it. At some point, his computer monitor also conked out (we tested the computer itself on mine, and that worked fine, although even a spare monitor we had in the attic failed to work), and Mom had to make a point of buying a new one at BestBuy, but not until Dad was finished fixing the furnace. For until then, she hooked my monitor up on Dad's desk, and I got around to dusting our main bookcase off (something I was supposed to do the previous day, actually) and had my nap for the day.
Drove to the BestBuy store in South Setauket, where we also did some shopping at Target. I used one of Mom's Starbucks cards that she gave me the other day to buy a pair of softened chocolate chip cookies and a caramel mocha as my snack for the day, something I started anticipating when she made plans to go out, since she would make lunch for me at home.
After we left Target, Mom had me bring what we bought to the car while she hopped into BestBuy for that monitor. I had some trouble finding the car, and she wound up meeting me just outside the entrance after I found it and loaded our stuff inside.
Hit the bank across the street, and I made a savings deposit of $32 in cash, before we headed back home. Normally, that would have gone into checking, but my previous deposit would have gone into savings in the first place if it hadn't been for something I didn't already have enough left on my personal budget for, so this should begin to compensate.
