Despite today's previous entry, I think I'm actually running out of steam with Getter Love!! already. Managed to land Shizuku's aforementioned secret scene before cashing in on her Giri Giri ending, and then invited her to a Cafe Liquid party before remembering that I was already done with her and turning the game right off. (I managed to get a lot done in-between rounds this past week, but all I'm doing now is going over one Wanikani lesson before or after each.)
Following that, I asked Brian if I should expect to see his writing tomorrow or Monday, but then he revealed that he had actually written about an alternate version of Magicant I described but ended up not liking. (Last Monday, a not-so-great day with the game, was when I asked at 9:10 PM when he'd even be back in Boston where he had left it.)
With that, I am going to get ready to continue with Starbound, and I'm thinking it might help to get this all off my mind. (The actual games listed will wait until I have an actual chapter
finished and ready for posting, but I do have plans for Zeroigar and another Battle Frontier trial run or so, for subsequent mid-chapter breaks to this one.)
And, to start with, here are the ones that are especially worth noting to start with:
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door: After finding out that your partners now have their own HP in that game, this one will probably come first, given certain plans of mine for Sonic Adventure DX for the same system. (Glad I had already played the N64 game on my Wii over three years ago, even though I didn't have the trope on mind at the time, and it was actually that game that led to my second attempt to launch it.)
(On that note, how ironic it is that that a certain cut section in
this old post came just shortly before I would familiarize myself with the also food-heavy manga series Puella Magi Kazumi Magica upon exploring its respective franchise as a whole.)
Super Paper Mario: Considering certain gaming plans I've got for around the holidays, by which point I might or might not get barely another chapter done, this might have to wait. However, it has recently come to my attention that Nintendo will be discontinuing its Wii services on January 31 next year, so I will probably bust the system out by then in order to spend my remaining Wii points, and make this the next game then, even though I'll probably be getting another Switch game for Christmas just a month earlier. (Good thing the Switch itself is compact enough even in console mode to have simply shifted aside for my Nintendo 64 before.)
The World Ends With You: Final Remix: The reason I got the Switch for my previous birthday, and the game I expect to receive for either Christmas or my following birthday, given its planned release date of December 31 this year.
Sailor Moon: Another Story: Watched someone else's playthrough, and as it turns out, you only need to grind about two levels as Rei to make reasonable work of Daisoujou. Will probably give this one a second chance. (I'm also aware of a certain fansequel to this, courtesy of TV Tropes.)
Grandia Xtreme: Wasn't planning to play this originally, until I found out that Geo Points do not restore health, unlike the save points in II and III, which I'm assuming will mean more item usage than in those two.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The 7th Stand User: Still have yet to watch Stardust Crusaders itself. (I'm also aware of a sequel called Fate is Unbreakable, which is currently in the works.)
Digimon Adventure: The only game listed I'm actually set on that doesn't showcase food (as far as I know). Saw footage of this on YouTube, and as a VG adaptation of what was originally just an anime series and one of my gateway anime to boot, it seems to hit right home, considering my long-term plans to adapt Starbound into a video game.
Disgaea (series): Brian still has my Switch, so I can't take another shot with Disgaea 5 Complete right now. The first game is also due for a Switch re-release soon, as Disgaea 1 Complete, and in lieu of The World Ends With You, I'll probably request that for Christmas. Game 2 should be an easy Steam purchase, but 3, 4, and D2 were never released for anything I currently have.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (series):
Game 1) Even though Game Gourmet was not present in that game, I might pick the PSP version up if I ever see it by chance at Savers. (Not playing the original PSX version, as its type of localization that was common at the time would just seem awkward to me.)
2) If I ever spot the PSX version of Eternal Punishment somewhere, I might invest in that, and then look into playing the fan-translation of Innocent Sin first on an emulator. (Wouldn't bother with the PSP versions, because I sort of prefer how IS's battle themes weren't so guitar-oriented.)
3) Open to any version by chance, but not going out of my way for, mainly due to an exact count of ten* playable characters in total. (Even though the second PS2 release technically has eleven, the one added in is only playable during the epilogue.)
(*Way overused, even if the reasons therefor should be obvious, and this is a secondary reason why I will not be playing Tokyo Xanadu. Sailor Moon is justified, because its main characters mostly wield a planetary motif, five of them weren't even always there, extra senshi Chibi-Usa debuted
before said other four, and the franchise's actual origins featured just Minako alone. Ironically, though, this was also going to be the planned number of mains for Starbound originally, but just as ironic is that that's part of how Jake eventually managed to talk me into giving Mondo his place back as Rokuna's rightful boyfriend, from which I decided personally that he should even come along in order to make up for the stillbirth of Cult's main story, and then added Desiré, conceived beforehand as a minor character, to complete the roster at my
favorite number.)
4) On hold until I clear most of the other games listed here. Even though I do own a Playstation 2, I understand that the Vita re-release has more content for the taking. The only other two Vita games listed, though, are the aforementioned Disgaea 3 and 4, which were originally released for the Playstation 3, which in turn can also run the below-listed Persona 5 and is the only system to date for Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness.
5) Next time I'm down in Virginia (presumably in December), I might ask if Cousin David could let me know when he wants to pawn off his Playstation 4, unless Aunt Marie and Uncle Ray happen to own one that I never noticed, in which case them if I could borrow that one for a while, depending on if they even use it that much. As for a possible re-release, I do understand that Sony has already discontinued support for the Vita, without any plans for another handheld, so here's hoping it eventually does come, instead to Android or Switch.
-----
And, the remaining games overall are
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale (no real interest in finishing Chantelise),
Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone, and
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, all available on Steam.
