Nov. 17th, 2018 05:05 pmHad a snowstorm two nights ago, which caused a pine branch to fall and yank down the power line connecting our house to the phone poles. We still had electricity, but no Internet connection.
Could've happened at a more convenient time, but just as easily at a lesser one. Wasn't able to continue researching Food Fantasy, but I managed to have a much-needed break from Wanikani cut right out for me, and filled half the time in by reading two books Mom had gotten me from the library.
Went with Mom to Riverhead at 10 today, and ate at Panera Bread while she did some shopping at Costco. Turned out Sabrosa and Buffalo Wild Wings don't open until 11 on most days, and also that Panera has a separate breakfast menu that it was still serving from its lunch menu. I got a four-cheese souffle and a box of four cream-and-cocoa homemade Oreos; not getting the former ever again, but the latter was worth staying to get a breakfast item with instead of something more lunch-oriented.
Someone reconnected one of the wires by the time we got home, but it took until this afternoon for the other one to get fixed.
And tomorrow, I will probably re-read everything on Wanikani back from the beginning, after two days of a forced break from it all. I gotta say, this has probably negated the main reason I was considering opening such a possible can of worms as that game, although I have made certain promises to myself about that in turn so that I don't become so obsessed with it as I spent several years before with Candy Crush Saga.
