Feb. 13th, 2020 08:09 amAfter the length of time she and Dad had spent without me, Mom decided to treat me to any restaurant of my choice for lunch yesterday, and we eventually agreed upon Applebee's since we also both had to stop at the bank nearby.
I got myself some stuffed ravioli, some oriental chicken salad, and an ice cream sundae on top of a chocolate chip cookie, and we agreed to save the cookie for today's snack.
We chatted about everything that went on on our respective ends of things, and she described in great detail what it was like in Cuba, with its decrepit housing, terrible wi-fi, but also how generous everyone was and how they all look out for one another, with even all the underfed cats and dogs getting along quite nicely.

Last night, quite by coincidence, my old friend Malik had posted some photos onto Facebook, of this restaurant in Patchogue called The Cuban. Called Mom in to show her, since I wasn't able to Share it, and she suggested maybe we could go there when Brian and Marie come over.
