Jan. 19th, 2021 06:27 amStarted over with Suikoden yesterday, now on a better emulator called Duckstation.
After experiencing a glitch with Pahn replacing Gremio and freezing the game up when the latter is supposed to talk during a cutscene, I have taken to rotating save slots, which should also mitigate blowback if I fuck something up again. Should have done before, and I even did before with both Earthbound (w/ savestates) and Trails in the Sky. (Of course, the former was for presentation purposes (such as going back to foreshadow anything story-related, such as these two sunbathers who get mentioned by a deliveryman at one point), and for the latter, the walkthrough I used advises doing so in case you miss any Bracer Points before realizing, as does one for Persona 2: Innocent Sin.)
And would you believe it, I managed to land both a peeing boy and a Persian lamp without even farming for anything yet. The former is easier to get later in the game, though enemy drops in general are all still extremely rare, but the latter can only be obtained within Lepant's mansion. Both are the hardest to get from their respective enemy species in that part of the game, and having planned before restarting on getting the statue for my sauna later on (for one of five different special effects you can invoke with different décor), I was actually going to come back with Pahn to grind for it, since Tir needs to be at level 25 in order to recruit Lorelai, and Pahn needs serious levelling up in order to survive a duel with Teo later in the game. (I didn't make plans for any other ornaments in particular, after landing 19 on Random.org for the first of five numbers between 1-19 (eighteen different ornament types, and 1 more to end), although I am going to aim for a painting called Beauties of Nature (dropped by orcs 0.26% of the time) at the end of the game, to hang alongside a flower painting (stored somewhere in Kalekka), after landing 2 and 1 inversely with my two cubic dice.)

Quite by coincidence considering how much of a role The Far Side has had this past month, Dad found a clip from Tales from the Far Side while watching stuff on YouTube.

(In case it gets deleted, the joke was a monster coming out of a sleeping kid's closet getting ready to eat him, and he instead bursts into goo, turning out to be a prank by two fellow monsters.)
