Feb. 9th, 2021 05:48 amHaven't played the game these past few weeks, after finding out that you can recruit yet a few other characters much earlier than the player's guide specifies. (I actually recall one other copy I saw said to have writing in it, and having since written some correction notes in the copy I bought, I can't help but wonder if that's what it was referring to.)
During that time, I was able to plan a new playthrough better and account for some things for the walkthrough, and also read this book Mom got me called An Outsider's Guide to Humans, about how an autistic woman learned about human nature through various sciences. Also meant to get back into Unity, but I just find myself more inclined to do just about anything else on my agenda most of the time. I actually addressed that in my notebook, and then over the phone with Brian, and he actually wasn't all that surprised.
Originally, I planned to end my break tomorrow when I burn the last remaining vocabulary under level 5, which only has one remaining but was still more than a month away when I finished up with with 4. Having had a break from the game, though, I was able to do some experimenting to figure out the best approach to reviewing all my old vocab. Having restarted just now with 1, I am going to revive all my burned vocab under one level a day, stalling only for any remaining words just a few days away from getting first burned. Having also done the math, it should take me probably until October, not counting any days I skip, to re-burn everything up through 60, since each item takes a month to enlighten after mastering, and then another five months to actually burn.
Originally, I actually stalled mainly to keep my workload down while playing Suikoden, and I didn't expect to start over about five times in the course of an entire month. Just a happy coincidence that that one item happened to be not much further away. However, I have actually found this past week that reviving just one level a day not to keep me busy enough, while reviving all the first four actually puts them out of level order as they get re-scheduled after each review. If anything, now seems like the best time to start over with that game while things are slow anyway.
