Sep. 27th, 2021 06:42 amI beat Yoshi's Island yesterday.
And as a bonus, I even won at the slot machine, for the first time ever, after clearing stage 6-E. I actually managed to line up three eggs for 3 extra lives. (Not that I would actually need lives at that point, without any further stages to conquer; it was really just for closure, after having scored 100 on each stage for that world.)
Was going to take a moment to open the system up to blow out just to prolong its lifespan even further, something I did every now and then with my old computer and had also found myself wishing I had done with my PC-FX just shortly after mailing that out five years ago, but I don't know where that special screwdriver I once bought went. I distinctly recall using it at some point to open up my Nintendo 64, and even managing to unjam its reset button while I was at it, but in any case, I called Mom while she and Dad were out somewhere to see if they have one of their own such tools. She told me upon coming home that Dad suggested I not do that, lest I possibly break it instead.
Well, it is nice to see that it still works after so long as eleven years after having had to send it for repairs.
Being able to tie Haganai in with today's trip to the post office is also a nice little bonus for having asked my other two buyers to expect their stuff shipped today, in order to allow myself one last time with the game.
(If I ever find myself wanting some new adaptation of that fanfic, even though Jake was the one all those years ago who proposed re-adapting what I wrote a few years earlier, I will be more than happy to seek someone else out for that, at least after I'm done commissioning for ROMhacks.)

Having looked up its hours, Texas de Brazil turns out to be a dinner-only place, and is closed entirely on Mondays and Tuesdays. I will have to call at around 5 on Wednesday to ask what the deal is with those gift cards, whether they're out or were never activated yet.
If they do in fact have money on them, I might ask Brian or Marie if they'd like to eat there next time either of them come over.
