Nov. 4th, 2021 05:49 amJust as I got finished two days ago with a load we took of Eddie's wood several earlier, Dad had someone dump another load just yesterday morning that they offered him for free.
I did manage to get back to Unity several days before we got our first load of firewood from Eddie's, and was planning to get back to my walkthroughs once Brian would conclude a visit he was originally planning for last Monday. Mom would go on to inform me of a change in plans, and I decided just to switch gears early, just to blow off steam when I'm not splitting or stacking wood.
Yesterday, we had some errands to run that Mom took off from work for, I was already running out of steam with my Earthbound walkthrough, and I decided to start reading volume 3 of Puella Magi Homura Tamura, which I had bought amongst several other manga and was already going to start reading in the car.
First of said errands was the post office. Somebody won my Japanese in Mangaland books, I got my payments for both those and my MAD magazines, and then was a perfect time to mail both of those and my player's guides out. Mom had packed them up, and I had a couple of hundreds since a previous bank visit for my work with the firewood, one of which to break for mailing them out.
Another bank visit that we agreed upon was next, and we stopped at the one in Stonybrook, since that's where we were going for our main task.
Before a certain appointment, Mom and I agreed to eat lunch out somewhere within that vicinity, and we ended up eating at Red Lobster for my first time ever. I ordered the Wednesday steak-and-lobster special with some quinoa rice and lobster-topped mashed potatoes, and a slice of key lime pie for dessert.
During our time there, Mom pulled out an index card where I had previously listed some manga requests for Christmas. One of those happened to be Wraith Arc, and she noticed the Puella Magi moniker that it shares with both Homura Tamura and the original Madoka Magica that I showed her. I told her that both manga series are spinoffs of Madoka, and she asked if there's anything new we could start watching soon. I at first considered making a list of viable anime when we'd be back home, but then found myself particularly in the mood for Kanon. (Might show her Magia Record later.)
And finally, we went for a 4:00 appointment at the Stony Brook Innovation & Discovery Center for a COVID booster shot each. (Having taken some tylenol when we got home, and then another dose, I'm not feeling so sick as I did after I got my first shot back in March.)
