Two days ago, Brian and I were going to invite Marie and Drew out to lunch (Emily was in a meeting). Brian went up first, and then suggested we give Marie ten minutes, which ended up being half an hour, but when I went up, that's when she told me she was also in a meeting.

We went just the two of us to Bagel Lovers, and I got myself a Fire Island hero sandwich, which filled me up enough to count for dinner as well.

Not an hour after we got back home, Marie and Drew led us to some hero place that turned out to be closed, and we ended up going to another called The Hero Joint, near that library Mom dropped me off at two years ago. Suffice to say, I didn't bother getting anything, but would have gotten something like ice cream or a cookie if it had anything like those, which Bagel Lovers doesn't have.

Yesterday, Marie and Drew each had one of a few bagels Brian had brought home the previous day. I toasted one up, and covered one half in some kind of cheese that Drew described as goat cheese, which turned out to have a couple of blue spots. Both he and Dad confirmed that as mold, and I tossed that half outside while eating the other half plain.

A few hours later, the four of us revisited The Hero Joint, and this time, I got myself something called The Harold and a cup of vanilla Fanta to bring home. That once again filled me up for dinner.

To put the following section into context, I usually prefer to reset everything the way it was each time I lose a battle. That helps me to figure out some actual use of what I buy to finalize, which is the entire point of randomization, which in turn is in no small part about challenging yourself.

Yesterday, I spent most of my day absorbed in Earthbound, desperately trying to figure out how to conquer the Giant Step caves with only a Yo-yo, a Baseball Cap, a Hamburger, a Lucky Sandwich worth 60 HP, a Bag of Fries, two Cookies, a Skip Sandwich, and a Can of Fruit Juice. The amount of trial and error I inevitably endured really helped me flesh out that part of the game's walkthrough, but I gave up after losing to Titanic Ant itself even with two uses of Rockin and each of my stronger foods still on me.

This morning was going to be my last attempt to conquer it before just accepting a loss to retain some experience I would obviously need, but I actually ended up defeating Titanic Ant anyway.
