Apr. 9th, 2023 08:12 amHad to decline that Home Depot position. The person offering me the job said they were looking for people to work the closing hours between 1-11 PM. Having told her that my available hours are 8 AM to 6 PM, I'm pretty sure she would have already offered me between just 1 and 6 if they were looking for part-timers.
Went to eat lunch at a next-door bagel place. Not much variety of snacks, but there was a stand of chocolate lollipops, and I got one of a chocolate-covered Oreo with more chocolate drizzled over it and bits of candy attached. Someone's little girl tried to grab at it from her arms, and I handed her one of the Easter bunny, in return for which the mother paid for mine (still had to pay for everything else, which included a poppy bagel for Dad at Mom's request).

Mom asked me to start chopping that log up once and for all. She told me that we recently had someone offer to saw it up for us, and despite his condition, Dad didn't want to seem weak and dependent, and now she wants me to start taking care of it before he tries to operate the chainsaw.
While I was chopping off the first segment since the holidays, Mom came out and noticed some lines of holes there in particular, evidently from the woodpeckers around here.
