Jul. 26th, 2023 06:30 amFollowing what happened as a result of those emulator experiments, Mom and I agreed yesterday to take care of any similar downloads at the library, starting with a ROM someone on GitHub asked me to test the controller on that I was using for analog functionality.
We drove there yesterday afternoon, but I was never able to log into Gmail, where I received the notification from GitHub. That being an unrecognized device, it asked me to verify my identity through a text or phone call, but I wasn't able to receive either of those because there isn't any service inside the building.
Mom tried to help me with this, but the closest we got was when I received what must have been the first of several text message codes sent to me when she sent me outside before clicking the button.
Soon, she asked me what I was actually trying to do, and then said that that person might be trying to hack into my computer, if he needs me to do something he should be capable himself of.
That aside, though, she could not help but wonder why I wasn't receiving Google Fi that she specifically paid for.
Soon as we get that sorted out, I'm thinking that maybe we could try again, this time by just downloading the ROM and Simple64 to use there instead of bringing home with us. (Still gonna need to talk to Brian next time I consider downloading emulators of other platforms.)
