Two trips cancelled.
Feb. 2nd, 2024 05:32 amOriginally, I was supposed to take SCAT to work these past two days.
Dad had an operation last Tuesday, and Mom and I did not want to expect him to feel well enough to drive me the next morning. Although my shift then was scheduled for 7, I was only able to get a 6:00 bus on Monday. However, Mom told me he actually felt fine after his operation, and that's when I cancelled that trip.
Mom did tell me that evening that she would be home yesterday morning before driving Dad to what was just an appointment, but it didn't cross my mind that she'd be making breakfast then. She called me in the morning to ask if I have bread for French toast, to which I responded that I do but had already had some cereal and oatmeal. At that time, I thought she was suggesting I make something filling for before I go to work, but having forgotten what she said the previous night, I spotted her car upon opening the blinds, and came down then to greet her and Dad. She did still make me a yogurt snack, though.
Mom ended up coming home less than an hour before my bus would've arrived otherwise, to let me know that they were on their way home, and asked if there was still time to cancel that trip (I managed to. Dad came with us as well, since he was feeling somewhat lightheaded).
That saves me a total of $8, and also gave me some time to wrap up some correspondence with two people on Upwork before we headed out.
