Irony to iron out
Mar. 11th, 2024 07:02 amFollowing that flag issue, Mr. Tenda gave me a build with a little trick to max my level out and check if the flag in question is active. Having played that on and off, I finally made my way to Threed, and after encountering the guard zombies, an iron diamond representing an alien-/robot-type enemy shows up somehow in the cemetery. I turned the game off right then and there, and went on to bring that up with him.
For until he'd get back to me, I decided to hit some of my current freelancers up for any progress, and gave Affonso permission to continue with Marenian Tavern Story. Of note, Vadim told me that he only has 13 out of 32 of Earthbound Zero's memory banks left to account for in a program he's been writing for that. (All the more reason to hold off on reposting for ROMhacks, although I will repost this morning for that plugin; one person responsible for that is facing delays with it, and someone else did not get back to me at all.)
Upon replying to me, Mr. Tenda said that he'd be more than happy to debug the game once I list things rather comprehensively, or else if I'm willing to pay him hourly for something he'd expect to require 30 hours give or take to see through. While I would be willing to trust him at this point not to charge me for more time than he'll actually spend on such a task, it might seem more practical to hold off for until Vadim finishes that program and has a chance then to make those few changes that Mr. Tenda couldn't, in case those end up introducing more bugs still to account for. For that purpose, Mr. Tenda did advise me on what tips and resources to relay to Vadim when we cross that bridge, including the current version of the project and the PK Hack server to seek advice on.
Well, I originally promised my next YouTube video fairly soon at the end of my previous one, but add my job leaving little time for in-depth gameplay in most mornings in question and often leaving me tired when I come home, this has been quite the troubled production. All I wanted to do was play through the game once, in order to have my own footage to showcase both completed and remaining changes through, but I've pretty much lost the spoons at this point.
