Nov. 2nd, 2024 05:32 amYesterday, my bus to work came a whole hour before my shift was scheduled to begin. With Tropical Smoothie Cafe closed until 7, I instead went over to Bagel Boss to order some pancakes and hashbrowns for breakfast instead. Having only half an hour to eat all that after it was all made, I wound up with such a stomachache for hours that, while I did manage to work through it whenever I wasn't in the restroom more frequently than usual, I didn't bother to have lunch even as of my second fifteen for the day, let alone my full lunch hour beforehand. (Incidentally, Jeyson and someone else told me that I was to take my hour after his, at the five-hour mark for my shift, and it's a good thing I was feeling far from hungry even then. I did at least feel better after having had a chance just to sit down in the breakroom.)

This is one of those things that seems simple at first, but then gets slightly out of hand. In this case, I originally thought it would be redundant to go up into the apartment and then re-lock that, when I had just come home too late in the day and tired to bother moving my stuff back up there, when I could just see our wash through normally.
Last night, being short of pajama pants, I stopped a load of towels in the dryer that weren't actually dry yet (often, stuff in there happens to dry up long before the dryer itself is finished), to swap back into the washer for some clothes that had just finished getting washed, fully intending to let the former finish drying afterwards. Managed to extract a dry pair of pajama pants after eating dinner, but other stuff in that load was still damp, so I just let it continue while getting ready for bed. (We had a doctor over to discuss some things with Mom, so I wasn't going to come out of the shower in just a t-shirt and boxers, in case that would seemed rude around company. I mean, Mom did tell me before how rude it is to come to dinner in my pajamas when we're eating together, at one point while we had Emily staying here with Brian during the pandemic.)
Mom got annoyed and called me from the basement about finding some still damp towels in the washer. I explained the situation to her, and she asked me from now on to see things through the next time I do something unusual like that, so as to avoid confusing anyone.
