Jan. 29th, 2025 05:45 amHad a checkup yesterday afternoon at 2, and had scheduled a bus to take me to the mall at 11, where Mom could pick me up after she get off from work before driving to the appointment just nearby.
With $120 in twenties (from $200 I had gotten for Christmas), I originally planned to eat lunch at Texas de Brazil. However, the bus had three other stops to make between mine, one of which took almost half an hour before the second of two passengers boarded (incidentally, they, too, were bound for the mall), and it took about an hour to get there.
Not knowing how long anything would take to cook there, I decided instead to eat at The Cheesecake Factory. Ordered some Korean fried chicken and an Arnold Palmer, and then a caramel pecan turtle cheesecake to have that protein shake with.
Despite its proximity to Barnes & Noble, I decided instead to check out two other places, one of which I had passed just past the food court upon entering the building there, after having noticed some manga in there. While I hadn't noticed the actual store name while visiting, upon googling and piecing things together, it turns out to have been Newbury Comics, somewhere I visited before. (While I did check out a few series' blurbs, nothing actually interested me enough to start reading or purchase.)
The other place, I noticed on a standing poster that pinpointed it near Macy's, was this Japanese store called Ebisu Life Store. No manga or DVDs, but I did look at some anime figures. Of note, I noticed one of a cute brunette girl named Mari Makinami from Neon Genesis Evangelion, but the clerk told me it would cost $40. Left it behind; would have considered buying someone more familiar, or if that unit was available for a 50% discount she mentioned some units of each item available were off for.

While discussing arrangements yet to be made last night, we ended up ruling out bringing my computer back into my room. Mom says it wouldn't look very professional if I were to showcase what was my bedroom since childhood that I still sleep in, and might turn some viewers away needlessly.
Thinking things over from there, I've decided so far that that spare computer from last year, the one I got before opening my current one for Christmas (the one Brian recommended, bottom of entry), can come down mainly for my online activities and Starbound work, and the one Brian and Drew were in the middle of building at that time can remain upstairs, far away from the TV that Mom still watches stuff on, for gaming (that one, unlike the previous one, actually did run RMG Portable, without slowdown or other issues). This would rule out any need for a special chair in the porch just for sitting back from my computer in when playing with a controller (an issue that had come up on our way home from the clinic).
(Still gonna need to bring cables and other things downstairs with the computer itself, and figure out afterwards what my newly designated gaming PC will need back, to purchase at BestBuy, before I can test Vadim's work on Earthbound Zero once and for all.)
