Feb. 23rd, 2026 07:27 amMom originally baked a square powdered pound cake for our nextdoor neighbor Eddie in advance exchange for plowing our driveway when it would snow. Yesterday, she decided to bake some brownies, and sent me to bring that cake to Nancy down the street. Given how rarely I go down there, and how similar the next two houses look, I wound up going to someone's house named Sean (same person from over two years ago?), and asked him when he answered the door what his relation to Nancy is. He told me I had the wrong address, and pointed those two doors back.
Nancy's youngest son Peter was the one who answered there, and gave me back a copper cookie bin upon taking the cake.
Mom confronted me shortly after I arrived back home, about how I managed to overshoot like that. As it soon turned out, Nancy had texted her, having seen me through a window.

I delivered half those brownies to Eddie after we came home from a midday workout; Mom had decided beforehand to keep the other half for ourselves.
