dmxratedWell, after having experienced the Battle Frontier, it's now time to mark down which Pokemon evolved and which ones learned a TM or tutored move.
Player: May
Game: Emerald
Mudkip: The starter Pokemon. Had to be evolved into Marshtomp on Route 110 in order to learn Mud Shot. That was the only way to beat Wattson, which is ironic because I was able to keep Mudkip unevolved the first time I was playing Emerald. But then again, I had missed out on Geodude the first time around, which means no Magnitude. Also learned Rollout from the Move Tutor in Verdanturf Town.
Lotad: Captured on Route 102. Gave birth to another Lotad, which hatched on Route 118. I don't remember where either of them evolved.
Poochyena: Captured on Route 102. Was later taught HM Rock Smash.
Zigzagoon: Captured on Route 102. Was later taught HM Cut. Would have been taught HM Strength if it evolved into Linoone.
Ralts: Captured on Route 102. Was later taught HM Flash, and was eventually taught Defense Curl by a Move Tutor in the Battle Frontier, which replaced Growl.
Wingull: Captured on Route 104. Was taught HM Surf. I don't remember where it evolved into Pelliper. Participated in the Elite Four battles and the Battle Frontier.
Marill: Captured on Route 104. Evolved into Azumarill in Mt. Pyre.
Taillow: Captured in Petalburg Woods. Evolved into Swellow on Route 134. Chosen for the Battle Frontier after I beat Spencer the first time around, and learned HM Fly before being brought for a level grind.
Shroomish: Captured in Petalburg Woods. Would have been taught HM Cut if it ever evolved into Breloom.
Skitty: Captured on Route 116. Would have been taught HM Strength if I ever decided to evolve it into Delcatty.
Abra: Captured in Granite Cave. Was taught Swagger in Slateport City. Can't remember where it evolved into Kadabra.
Tentacool: Fished up in Slateport City. Was taught HMs Surf and Dive. Evolved into Tentacruel on Route 131.
Magikarp: Fished up on Route 106. Would have been taught HMs Surf and Dive if it ever evolved into Gyarados.
Baltoy: Captured in the desert on Route 111. Chosen for the Battle Frontier after I beat Pike Queen Lucy the first time, in order to contend against her second set. Evolved into Claydol at Level 45 on Route 120 on June 11, 2011, during a following series of rematches in the mainland intended to level it up to 50.
Machop: Captured in Fiery Path. Was taught HM Strength.
Spinda: Captured on Route 113. Was taught TM 27 (Return).
Jigglypuff: Captured on Route 115. Ironically never knew Sing, but was eventually taught TM 28 (Dig).
Magnemite: Captured in New Mauville. Chosen for the Battle Frontier after I beat Pike Queen Lucy the first time, in order to contend against her second set. Evolved into Magneton at Level 44 on Route 109 on June 10, 2011, during a following series of rematches in the mainland intended to level it up to 50.
Manectric: Captured on Route 118. This is the only Pokemon that was captured in an evolved form, but it did produce an Electrike egg... which never hatched.
Natu: Captured in the Safari Zone. Was taught TM 44 (Rest).
Vulpix: Captured on Mt. Pyre. Was taught TM 17 (Protect).
Carvahna: Fished up on Route 119. Evolved into Sharpedo on Route 127. Was later taught HM Waterfall.
Egg-raised Geodude: Hatched on the 1st Floor of the Lilycove Dept. Store. Was then taught HM Rock Smash.
Wailmer: Captured on the shore by Lilycove City. Evolved into Wailord on Route 133 all by leveling up. (Three stockpiled Rare Candies originally intended for him were then given to my Kadabra.)
Chinchou: Captured underwater on Route 124. Was taught HM Flash.
Spheal: Captured inside the Shoal Cave. Would have learned TM 15 (Hyper Beam) if it ever evolved all the way to Walrein.
Corsola: Fished up at Ever Grande City. Chosen to participate in the Battle Frontier after I beat Spencer for the first time, and was taught HM Surf before being brought on a level grind.
Mawile: Captured on Victory Road. Participated in the Battle Frontier, before eventually being replaced by Registeel.
Houndour: Captured in the Safari Zone. Was taught TM 38 (Fire Blast) before participating in the Battle Frontier. Was eventually replaced by a Snorlax traded from LeafGreen.
Anorith: Picked up as the Claw Fossil in the Desert Underpass. Was taught Substitute in Lilycove City after being revived in the Devon Corporation.
Latias: Encountered and captured on Route 118 (7/11/11).
