Chronicles of 7th Grade, week 22

dmxratedThis marks the last week of the second quarter of the year I was in 7th Grade.
January 24, 1999 (Sunday)
I was playing Banjo-Kazooie all morning today until Sunday School. When we went to Sunday School, I left it on. When we got home, I continued playing from where I left off.
Eric came over and saw what I was playing. While I was playing, Brian and Eric were playing with Legos. I then started wandering inside the house and thinking about the battle with Gruntilda where you keep using Gold Feathers while freeing the Jinjos, and while the music is playing, they’re like “Jinjo! Weeee!” each time you free one. In the end of that game I’m gonna make, you fight Wario, and something similar is happening.
While I was wandering, Brian and Eric were gonna play, and suddenly, I continued playing. They kept begging me to let them have a turn. I was gonna tell them I’d let them have a turn after I lose a life, but I didn’t. Brian asked me if I could do that. I agreed to it. I was getting the Jiggy in the eating contest in Bubble Gloop Swamp, and before each round, Brian’s like “I’m sure he’s gonna lose this,” but I didn’t. While I was battling the Flibbits, I got the only Honeycomb that doesn’t say anything, and Brian’s like “That’s the only Honeycomb he can collect, or else it ruins his objective.” I did lose a life from falling into the water from a cattail, and then turned the game off. Brian and Eric took the cartridge out of the N64. Eric’s like “Look how hot this thing is.” Brian’s like “Yeah, I know, he’s been playing all morning.”
They started playing Goldeneye. Eric’s like “Let’s make him miserable since he made us miserable.” I then started playing with Duckbutt. Brian’s like “He’s got this stupid duck called Duckbutt.” While they were still playing, they were in the jungle, and Eric told Brian that he was never able to beat Janus, but when he does what follows up is awesome. I then got Seaweed from Marie’s room, and I was putting Duckbutt and Seaweed on top of Brian and Eric’s heads. Soon, me, Eric, and Brian were playing Battle Mode, and I was pretending Duckbutt was playing. I was using his wings to make him press the buttons. Later, I was pretending he was choosing which button to press by singing “Eeny meeny miny moe.” After I was done playing, Brian was using the controller I was using, and the autofire button was on because Duckbutt was playing.
Tonight, I asked Mom what I was obsessed about when I was little.
“Thomas the Tank Engine,’ ‘The Catalog,’ for a while Tom and Jerry,” she answered me. When I came back in, I was gonna play Banjo-Kazooie some more, and she asked me to do something else. I’m like “I liked it when I was obsessed.” She’s like “No!”
Before bedtime, while I was playing Banjo-Kazooie, I came out of my room to do something, and I saw that Nick News was on. They showed Disneyland, and the speaker is like “In Disneyland, you’re not allowed to wear a mustache, or a beard,” and they showed someone with a beard who works at Disneyland anyway. Mom asked me to go watch, and I’m like “No thanks.” She’s like “No, you need to be well-rounded.” I’m like “Why can’t I play Nintendo?”
“What did you do when you got up?” she asked me.
“Played Nintendo,” I told her.
“And what did you do after church?”
“Played Nintendo.”
“And what did you do after Eric left?”
“Played Nintendo.”
“So all day, you’ve been playing Nintendo.”
I kept arguing with Mom about it, and then she soon let me play. After I got the Jiggy in Clanker’s Cavern that you get for freeing Clanker, I started smacking myself in the head, and I’m like “Tyson’s stupid, Matthew’s stupid, JENNA’S STUPID!!!” I then started crying. Mom then came into my room and sat on my bed. She’s like “I didn’t mean to make you cry.”
During this week, I remember having spent at least two days in Music (Period 7) watching a movie called Sister Act II. What I don’t remember is what day we started watching the movie.
January 25, 1999 (Monday)
Today, I got February’s issue of Nintendo Power. It had information on the real Snowboard Kids 2. I read about it, and in one of the pictures, one of the kids had a tornado in their weapon container.
Tonight, while Mom was making dinner, I started reading it some more. Brian and Marie asked Mom what’s for dinner.
“Fish,” Mom told them. I went outside to wander, and I kept muttering “Bitch!” under my breath. While I was outside, Mom called me from outside, and she’s like “Donkey Kong’s on!” I came in to watch. After it was over, I started playing Banjo-Kazooie.
Later tonight, I asked Mom if I could go into her room to watch Doug. She said I could. I turned on their TV, and turned on Beavis and Butthead. Dad was watching TV in the living room. I’m like “Your favorite show is on!”
What channel?” he asked.
“22. No, 29,” I told him. He turned it on. Mom’s like “He wants to watch Doug.” Dad’s like “No, he wants to watch Beavis and Butthead.” Mom’s like “Was this just to get him back?”
January 26, 1999 (Tuesday)
Today at Lunch Period, I spoke to Jonathon. I told him I noticed he didn’t have crutches anymore, but he told me they were in his homeroom. I asked him how his weekend went and he said it went good. Then I offered him a Kit Kat and he took it and said thanks.
Before Group, while I was playing Banjo-Kazooie, Daria was on, and I watched part of it:
Quinn was in her room with someone else, and her friend kept trying different outfits and asking “Does this make me look fat?” Soon, Quinn’s like “You’re not fricken fat!!!”
Before Group started, I told Sean about Daria. However, when Group started, he told us that his friend came over and made the noise that usually makes his parakeet go nuts, but his parakeet was dead. During Group, we practiced having a conversation about video games, and I told the other kids that my favorite game is Banjo-Kazooie. Sean’s like “That’s a game about a bear and a bird.” I also told them “My favorite part of it is Spiral Mountain, Mumbo’s Mountain, Treasure Trove Cove, and the noises that the items make when you collect them for the first time.”
When we got home, Marie watched Dr. Dolittle while I continued playing Banjo-Kazooie. After I got the Jiggy from the Tiptup choir, I beakbashed one of the turtles, and he’s like “Hey, watch it, fatty.”
January 27, 1999 (Wednesday)
In Science, I got a 91 for my quarter grade, and I got the highest out of the whole class. Before 7th Period started, we told Janus about it, and she’s like “How pitiful!”
Tonight during dinner, I asked Mom “What if I got a D, and everyone else got F’s in a class?” Mom told me she better not see a grade like that and asked me why. I told her that I got a 91 in Science, which was the highest out of the whole class. Mom and Dad congratulated me.
January 28, 1999 (Thursday)
Tonight, Mom and Dad were watching TV, and they were flipping through the channels, and on Channel 14, Beavis and Butthead was on on MTV. I asked Mom and Dad if I could watch it in their room, and Mom let me watch it. I was being rowdy, and then Mom and Dad told me to come out. After I calmed down, I’m like “Me calm down now.” Brian’s like “He sounds like a caveman.” I asked Mom if I could go back into her room. She told me no. Soon, Celebrity Deathmatch was on, and I asked Mom if I could watch that. She’s like “No, that’s just another show where you’re gonna act rowdy again.
January 29, 1999 (Friday)
Before I got on the bus home today, I told Mrs. B. about Beavis and Butthead last night. When I got on the bus, I told Keith about it as well.
Tonight, I asked Mom if I could watch Beavis and Butthead. She said no. “You talk about it with the busdriver.” Dad’s like “Yeah, you should hang out with kids your own age.”
Back to the present.
As it turns out, Koharu Biyori did in fact make it here, and like its manga counterpart, was re-titled Indian Summer. I added it right to the top of my Netflix queue.
January 24, 1999 (Sunday)
