Back to regular posting of Co7G entries. Tuesday marks the day that I found out that Daniel's mother had her fourth child, whom she named Peter. Wednesday marks the only time since elementary school that we had ever gone on a field trip. Friday will be the start of tomorrow's set of entries.

March 22, 1999 (Monday)

When I got home from school today, I had a lot of homework, but I got it done in a short time and continued to do most of the homework that’s being assigned tomorrow. Tomorrow, I’m not gonna have much homework.

Tonight, me and the other kids watched Hey Arnold. Arnold was having a retired singer attend a school dance, but it became crappy. The singer was singing “My Last Bow,” and everyone thought it sucked. Arnold spoke to him, and he played something good.

After it was over, I played the Endless Mode on Tetris Attack, and I was playing the Sky stage. I got seventy-two 4’s by the time I got a game over. SEVENTY-TWO 4’S!!! I’m not ever gonna forget this.

March 23, 1999 (Tuesday)

This morning, Mrs. B. was with another woman. I showed her all my homework, and she told the other woman “He’s got a cast, and he still does his own homework.”

Before 1st Period, we went upstairs, and Danny came to us, and we talked a little bit. Danny asked me if I got any games, but I said no. Ms. B.’s like “Danny’s mom just had a baby. What do you say?” I didn’t know what to say, but she told me to say “Congratulations.” I asked him what his name is. He told me his name’s Peter.

During Math, Taison was in the back of the room behind the shelf with Ms. B., and Ms. B. was asking him things like “Who’s the one who sticks his tongue in Health Class?” I was laughing so fricken hard that I slammed my head on the desk, and then everyone else started laughing, and I was still laughing. On the way to Gym, I asked her if we should wait for him and ask him “Who’s the one who plays with Duckduck?” We waited, and she’s like “Let him say goodbye to his chicks.”

Tonight in Group, I told the group about me and Ms. B. and Taison, and I told them how I slammed my head on the desk.

March 24, 1999 (Wednesday)

Today for 7th and 8th Periods, we had a field trip to the High School, and we watched some comedic play from 1925. There was a whole bunch of people on a ship, and they were talking, and then they were singing some song, and the person in the very middle was playing the horn.

On the way home, everyone was asking Danny about his newborn brother. When I got home, I asked Dad if I could go to his house to see Peter. Dad told me I shouldn’t because his mom’s probably still in the hospital.

I’m so damn tired of waiting for Legend of Zelda 64 to get here, so I decided I’m gonna play Street Fighter II, and if I’m not interested in that, I’m gonna try Banjo-Kazooie. I started playing Street Fighter II, and I was cursing each time I won or lost a battle. When Brian came home, he’s like “Oh, it’s the fool’s game.”

March 25, 1999 (Thursday)

Today after school, I continued to play Street Fighter 2, and I kept cursing until I got up to Balrog. Mom heard me, and she’s like “Watch it with the mouth.” Before we went to bed, Mom was in my room talking to Brian, and she asked me what I was playing. I told her it was Street Fighter II.

The following day is when I finally received Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. But first, another important game will come before that, which will be announced tomorrow.

Back to the present.

Sending back: Indian Summer. I'll explain why I'm already returning that one soon enough.

Yesterday, while I was out with Vincent, he asked me if I ever decided to call Taylor. I told him that I rarely even use the phone, and that I was so preoccupied with my games and learning Japanese that I haven't even bothered signing onto MSN for the most part, which is what I use most of the time to talk to... anyone. He then went on about how one day, I'm gonna get bored of video games, and by the time that happens, my options in life will be severely limited. This, however, just comes across as one more lecture after the last. Even back in 7th Grade, when I had more friends than just Matthew, I never did go out of my way to call up my friends, and even with Matthew, I only called him when Mom suggested I do so; otherwise, he'd be the one to call me. If trying to get random people's phone numbers at school didn't work, ACLD didn't help me become more social, and having to spend time with Matthew was hardly ever fun, then I don't know what will help me leave this "pathetic" lifestyle I live and give me any reason to have real friends. Oh, that's right, my own effort, except I don't have the willpower to make any such effort.

"Man cannot live on bread alone." Or, in my case, on video games. Really? I've already figured out what I wanna aim for when I leave college, so as long as I can support myself, I damn well can live the rest of my life doing the equivalent of getting stoned. You might say, "Well, sure, but it would become meaningless." What, is life some kind of game where the objective is to accomplish or learn as much stuff as possible before you die? If you "win", it's not like you'd be able to celebrate or remember it when you're dead, you wouldn't remember anything you learned during death, and whatever you accomplished will stop benefiting people eventually, and people themselves will stop existing at some point. Anyone who believes in God or some other deity might think that the purpose is to score points for an eternal afterlife, but I don't. Different religions cancel one another out, and science is the final nail in the coffin that proves them all wrong.

-----

Anyway, from now on, Vincent and I will be meeting on Tuesdays and Fridays, rather than on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Moving on, wanna know why I'm returning Indian Summer?

As it turns out, that OAV never did get a voice dub. What the fuck? Yeah, it has English subtitles, which was enough with Ultimate Girls and the Makendou OAV, but I watched those on YouTube and Windows Media Player respectively. I got this from Netflix, so I had every reason to expect this to have the option to listen to the characters speaking English. I know the girls are really cute in this series, but so were those from Mermaid Melody, for which an episode or two was fandubbed. Next anime DVD will be marked the day after I receive it.

-----

Last night, while Dad was watching Malcome in the Middle, he saw this commercial for Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Seeing as the original Ghostbusters movie had always been a favorite of ours, he asked me if I would play such a game. I told him I'd probably give it a try, but not most of the games that the Angry Video Game Nerd reviewed. He then asked me what the Nerd is so angry about, to which I answered "shitty games". He asked me not to use that language, I told him that that's exactly what he says, and he told me not to make him regret talking to me.
