Even though this was the last week of summer camp, this set of Co7G entries is only the second-to-last episode of the saga. Friday of that week will have its own entry tomorrow.
August 2, 1999 (Monday)
This morning, we watched an episode of Pokemon while we were eating breakfast. This episode focused on Ditto, who was being exhibited on a stage. Team Rocket came along and stole Ditto, but the good guys tracked them down and got it back. Team Rocket then went up into a balloon, and Ditto transformed into a cannon and fired Pikachu at them.
After it was over, we then watched an episode of Doug, in which Porkchop runs away and Doug has to find him.
Matthew came with us to summer camp. I showed him around when we got there.
During nature, Pastor Ralph taught us about whaling. People went out to sea, and they would throw the harpoon into the whale’s blowhole, and blood would come out. I reacted slightly, and Ralph’s like “I knew someone would be grossed out.”
As we left the church, he then led us into the woods, and told us about a forest fire that had taken place. I noticed that Billy had his shirt over his nose, to protect it from the smoke.
During music, Quinton told us about some play called Fiddler on the Roof. He told us about some song that goes like, “Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match!” During lunch, some of the boys made fun of the song, changing it to things like “Matchmaker, matchmaker, pee in your pants!”
August 3, 1999 (Tuesday)
Today at Group, Joshua was wearing some t-shirt that said “Yo quiero Taco Bell!” At first, I thought it meant “Yo, queer! Taco Bell!”, but then he told us that it actually means “I want Taco Bell!”
We returned Pokemon Snap at Blockbuster on the way home from school.
August 4, 1999 (Wednesday)
Today in summer camp, we started rehearsing some song called Closing Time. David Mandery was supposed to sing the first two words alone, and then the rest of us would start singing it as well.
Returned: Lucky Star, disk 3
Finished: Azumanga Daioh, disk 3
Back to the present.
Had somewhat of a break from studying Japanese yesterday. I did eventually pick up from where I left off the day before, but I didn't bother doing any exercises. Tomorrow, when I get started with that very special game, I'm just gonna see if I can recall anything from what I've read in the books. In the meantime, though, I will continue to skim through the pages.
