Recently, Bulbapedia announced that Arceus will be distributed from November 7 to 15 at Toys 'R' Us, available to download onto Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. I'm gonna download it to all three games. The ones in Diamond and Platinum will remain on it, and will be used in the Elite Four battles to help my weaker Pokemon level up. The one in Pearl will be traded onto HeartGold or SoulSilver (whichever one I get first) to unlock a secret area in the game. (If the Azure Flute is ever distributed, though, I'll trade the Arceus I capture at the Hall of Origin onto the other HGSS game when I get around to playing it.)

Last night, I splintered my fingertip trying to sweep what I mistook a cockroach into the toilet. I screamed, thinking I got stung, and Mom came into the bathroom, and she told me it's a wood beetle. She picked it up and let it outside, and then told me the difference between the two species. She also told me that they eat wood, but only from dead trees. They're not destructive like termites or carpenter ants.

Now for some funny stuff:

1) I did mention that Brian watched an episode of The Big Bang Theory with Mom and Dad before going home. Earlier on, even though I never watched the show, Mom told me that everyone in it reminds her of me. Namely, some girl was playing this MMORPG and fighting a multi-headed monster, someone was trying to say something to her, and she prevented him from talking while she tried to concentrate. Several times, when I was playing Getter Love!!, Mom tried to talk to me about my day at school, but I stopped her because I can't pause during mini-games.

2) Not too long ago, I overheard Mom talking to someone about their kid taking pictures of stuff with their Nintendo DS. She's like "I didn't know you could take pictures with your Game Boy." I corrected her the next morning as we were driving somewhere, and she told me that unlike people on video game-related forums, she and her co-workers don't tend to differentiate between consoles.

(I should note, though, that I have heard of the Game Boy Camera, which was released in late 1998. Craig had one, which he brought over with his Super Game Boy early in Chronicles of 7th Grade.)

3) Half a year ago, when I was almost finished playing Makeruna! Makendou Z, Dad one time referred to the game as a "Nintendo game". Technically, it isn't a Nintendo game, because the PC-FX was made by NEC, not Nintendo. And even in the case of various other consoles: For example, with the Sony Playstation, the Microsoft Xbox, or any of their respective successors, you don't call them "Sony games" or "Microsoft games", you call them "Playstation games" and "Xbox games".

Not that I can blame Dad for not knowing the difference. He wouldn't be able to differentiate between consoles. Furthermore, as you'd know if you read Co7G last summer, "Nintendo games" were the term we used to refer to video games in general, since we only had the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the Nintendo 64 back then, and "play Nintendo" was the term we used to use to refer to playing one of my games.

4) And finally, a line from Chelle's fic Window to Your Soul:

The motions were clunky to the point of making a clown seem elegant,

This refers to Rockna's movements when she first tries to practice necromancy, if I understand correctly. For a while since reading that, I wished I hadn't read the last five. But, not to long ago, I thought of something I could relate that with, because it is neither of those.

To quote the Angry Video Game Nerd in his Godzilla multi-review, after he shows us the Game Boy game:

They might as well have Godzilla dressed in a clown suit, jumping on a pogo stick.

Chelle:

*confuzzled* Why? It's just a double metaphor (clown initially calls the image of a silly person forth, but there are more than one variant and some can be quite elegant, was meant to indicate it still looks clumsy but she has the basics). Though I guess that's a pretty obscure one, I didn't really think it over when putting that in.
Anyway, that wasn't necromancy, that was golem creation. She wouldn't be able to do necromancy since it's torturous, she's learning golem creation specifically because it's virtually devoid of the sort of pain that would hinder her as a summoner.

Something else, you computer can display kanji, no? How did you install the kanji pack?

I've never read gameplay tracks before so I have zero knowledge in that regard and what can be said about such things, I just thought it was interesting to see how much I could deduct from the entries about how it's played. So nope, nothing to say.
