Whether I still have to continue taking any more classes at Dowling depends on whether or not I passed all my classes. Africa was the class I've had the most trouble with this past semester.

-----

Had a meeting with Dr. Perret Wednesday morning. Not much to note there; just spoke to him about my experiences with Mrs. Bandows and my day-to-day worrying that the end of the world will come.

-----

The car pretty much broke down again. Mom noticed it was acting funny before then, and drove it to Dad's shop. When she tried to drive out of the driveway, it went off only two seconds after each time she started it up. Dad inspected the hood, and then he was somehow able to drive it to the nearby car dealer.

All three of us had to ride the van back home. On the bright side, we got a Christmas tree, which is currently leaning against the greenhouse.

-----

That night, I was about to get started role-playing with Jake. However, we barely got started then, because Mom told me to hurry and wrap things up with him because I had one more short-answer question on my China take-home final, and I had my Africa exam to be studying for. An hour later, I would've come off of MSN tired. I told her that I had been waiting to get started RP-ing with Jake the whole day, but she told me that she wanted to watch a movie and have some wine with Dad, except that I made her read something to help me with the China question.

Okay, I guess we're even... even though I had been asking her all week to get around to reading that.

A dispute ensued between me and her, not even so much about the role-play as about me having to take so much shit from Mrs. Bandows in the past and having had to play this bureaucratic game called college for five and a half years.

I had spent the whole week until then, taking an online final for psychology. I showed that to Mom, she was completely unfamiliar with the content, and she gave me permission to submit it. I got 36 out of 54 questions right, and didn't bother making a second or third attempt to do better; it's good enough.

If I were still seeing Vinnie, I'm sure he'd be disappointed that I either failed some of my classes or just barely got by, hardly ever going for extra help. He used to place emphasis on achievement over simply passing my classes, but skrew him.

Yesterday, I got up before 5 A.M., and actually role-played with Jake for more than an hour. At 7, I got ready for school, and then studied for my Africa exam, but I continued with Jake after taking said exam and being dismissed.

About the play itself, it's based on Monster Collection Chronicles. The premise is that Drake and Kasumi are stuck in their giant forms, with their clothes destroyed, after having fought an unspecified giant monster. Even though having the rest of the Knights seeing them in this state embarrasses them, one of them does inform them that they must, er... use up their energy. A lemon ensues.

So far, this is the first role play that I have ever completed with anyone. If Jake gives me permission, I might host the RP on this blog, and any others that we complete in the future. However, since I still have a long way to go before writing Monster Collection Chronicles, it probably wouldn't be practical to host this on any regular fanfiction sites. Doing so would confuse readers, who wouldn't know why there are other Knights besides Mondo and Rockna, or how they're suddenly able to become 30 meters tall (or do anything other than summon monsters, for that matter).

This past Wednesday was my last day working for Patti. As thanks, she gave me a Christmas card, which I opened just last night while Dad temporarily took the computer from me while I was chatting with Jake. It turned out to have tiny cotton balls on the front, which are supposed to be snowflakes. The front said "Soft snow...", and the inside said "lovely world..." and then "peaceful Christmas to you." Patti herself had written "Thank you so much for all your hard work. Best, Patti", and there was also a $5 bill inside.

After opening said card, I came back and saw Dad watching this YouTube video he found through the WoodenBoat forum, where food is used to re-enact the wars of the 20th century. I gotta say, that's some good humor.

Well, now that my college career is pretty much over, we need a way to celebrate this. So, for the next eight or nine days, not counting the day after Christmas, I'm gonna host a special entry. News updates of my life will probably continue after that period ends.

For this entry, let's end with this:

Last summer, Jake showed me a gameplay video of Sonic Rush for the Nintendo DS, showing how ridiculously much stuff you need to dodge in Special Stage 7. The song I heard was pretty pumped up, but upon rewatching the video and watching other Special Stage videos, that song isn't actually in the game. The game's real Special Stage music is actually rather comical in comparison. (Come to have thought of it, I didn't remember hearing any sound effects in the video.)

The song in question is actually from Sonic R for the Sega Saturn, and it plays on both the title screen and in level Radiant Emerald. Considering that I already decided against adding Take the Offensive (brought up not too long ago) to my songlist, I wasn't sure whether or not to add this one to it. However, there's also McRock, which plays in both the first world and the credits of Mick & Mack as the Global Gladiators.

In that case, I think I'm going to add the song to my list.

Anyway, applying songs anywhere, Take the Offensive would've been just another battle theme. On the other hand, if there was any way to apply this song to Monster Collection Chronicles, I could easily imagine Mondo, Rockna or any of my non-canon Knights running at hyperspeed and dodging stuff, whether it be in any similar pocket dimensions or somewhere in one of the main worlds. Ashura, exclusive to the third fic, was also thought up specifically to fulfill this, and is already going to be a rival of the Knights. That numbers gimmick from Sonic Rush? That's awesome too!

Also, why are most Sonic songs these days nothing but Rock music? I can understand Sonic Adventure and some of the other later games having a rock tune for its theme song, but while there are exceptions, most level songs these days are nothing but heavy metal. Why can't it be more varied like it used to be?

I should make a thread about that in the VGMusic forum one of these days.

Well, here's the link to the video that Jake showed me:
