Check out my userpic collection!
Dec. 29th, 2009 10:14 amNot too long ago, Chelle gave me a set of Beginner pics to use as my DeviantArt avatar, and I used one of them. This gave me the inspiration to create an entire collection of avatars featuring other characters. Of course, I'm not sure if I'm actually gonna use them. Chelle has a whole bunch of avatars for her own blog, some of which mean something obvious, such as when he's annoyed or downright pissed off. Other pics of hers are a bit harder to understand.
Let me tell you, any number of years ago, if I were to have an avatar collection, the pics I would've used would be different from the ones I'm using now. Interests change constantly, which is exactly why I have nothing listed under "Interests" in my profile page.
My default avatar. This character is Mai Tsurugino, as she appears on the cover art for Makeruna! Makendou Z.
One of the pics that Chelle shared with me, of Beginner from Mon Colle Knights. This is the one I made my DA avatar.
Makenro, from Makeruna! Makendou Z. Actually, she used to wear more than this in the first two Makendou games, and I'll admit that the design is rather ugly, but the fact that she wears so little is hot.
Natsuki's beach scene from Getter Love!!, which I hosted on the 4th of this month.
Here's Ellen, my single favorite character from the Pokemon franchise. Actually, this girl is normally known as Blue (Jake renamed her), and this pic is a Pokesho pic that Jake showed me before I began regularly checking Pokesho for updates.
Mikuru from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. After receiving this pic from Jake (who complained that she seemed like she was being forced somewhere naked), I found this later on, on a site that turned out to be pornographic. Canonically, this girl wore a one-piece swimsuit, and her bust wasn't as big as depicted here. In any case, though, it's hot when a girl gets embarrassed from wearing very little clothing.
Official artwork for Ultimate Girls, featuring (from left to right) Vivienne, Silk, and Tsubomi in their Ultimate forms. (Yeah, I can tell this isn't canon, because only one girl can transform in the actual anime.)
James Rolfe, as the Angry Video Game Nerd. One of my favorite non-anime series. Other than that, there's only one thing to say: "ASS!!!"
("Gee... It sure is boring around here...")
Link's opening line from Link: The Faces of Evil. Never actually played this before, or anything else on the Phillips CD-i, but I think this is pretty amusing to listen to.

("Have you? Look at your hands. Look at what you've become!")
Tycho, from Penny Arcade. Or to be more specific, this was taken from part 4 of a four-part mini-series where he and Gabe bicker during a game of Dungeons & Dragons. Those four strips have been my most favorite of them all ever since, even to this day. (Gotta love that smirk he's pulling.)
Cloaked in Twilight
Hot Dogs
The Obliterator
He Who Fights With Nerds
Makoto, as she appears in Kanon after falling down the staircase. I've seen plenty of anime characters' eyes become spirals like that, but not CG like here. (Hosted here, because it wouldn't have been noteworthy enough to list as one of my top ten anime moments. Besides which I already had three there as it was.)
Kagami Hiragi, from Lucky Star. Annoyed is what she is most of the time, and I was surprised to find so few pics of that when I looked on Google. I would probably use this one when I'm frustrated about something, for which Chelle has an equivalent pic of this girl's cousin and fellow tsundere Rockna Hiragi.
Now here's a screenshot of Kagami happily eating her first bite at a cake buffet. Her mouth is a bit hard to see, with the pic being so tiny, but this is arguably one of her cutest moments in Lucky Star. (Takes place in episode 9, in case you're wondering.)
Nayuki from Kanon, singing drowsily as she tries to eat breakfast. Probably something I'd use if I'm tired myself.
The titular character from A Little Snow Fairy Sugar. Screenshot of episode 6, taken from a commentary blog by The Pink Sylphide
And as a bonus, Chelle said on his/her blog that she's looking for something to replace her "Not Happy" Shinzo avatar. Even though she's never watched A Little Snow Fairy Sugar, Saga's follow-up to the previous pic would suit the meaning behind that perfectly: Chelle. Is. Pissed! (Sorry to end this on a bad note, but here ya go!)

If your interests change, why not just change the field's content as well? Also, some of your interest still remain.
And as a bonus, ...
Thanks ^_^, I'll have to see though how I can make the ratio work with a 1:1 frame.

Date: 2019-07-13 07:34 pm (UTC)By the way, as long as we're here, maybe you could explain what each of your avatars are supposed to represent. The ones I can tell would be Holo (when you're happy), Rokuna (annoyance), "Geek Love" (talking about technical details about anime), and the aforementioned Yakumo pic you still have. The eyeball tree (which I'm assuming is the Fenrir Tree from Pretear), the Dread Dragon, and Zaha also seem to carry negative connotations, and the "Muse Harrassment" pic seems to have negative connotations involving fanfiction (though not all posts with that pic were negative). The rest are hard to tell.
For my part, Mai is my default avatar. I might use Beginner, Sugar, or Kagami's second pic when talking about cuteness. Kagami's first pic or my AVGN pic would represent annoyance. Nayuki might be used if I'm tired (probably while writing a bonus entry). The fanservice pics might be used when I'm talking about just that; which one I use depends on the nature of it, but if there's non-fanservice stuff in the same post, the FS-related stuff would go behind an lj-cut. Link would represent when I'm bored or don't know what to do with myself. And, that leaves me with just Tycho (sneering) and Makoto (not sure what to do with her).
