Feb. 23rd, 2010 07:38 amUnhooked the VCR from the TV again yesterday, now that I have the S-video cable. Failed to record my MMZ footage, but upon looking the product up on Amazon.com, the first reviewer claimed that Cyberlink PowerDirector Express was the easiest software to work with when using the device. Any software that I download will be downloaded through my laptop, but before I do anything, I'm gonna ask Brian to just email me a list of steps to take in order to record my footage.
As a result of me fidgeting with the VCR/DVD player, Dad had to try to rearrange the cables in the back of the unit in order to watch a DVD with Mom. He was able to get it up and running again, but the color was lacking. Because of this, he told me never to do anything like this again, and Mom asked me to buy my own VCR before going through with this. I was able to find some on Ebay for a total price of around $20, but honestly, I don't think it's worth it for something that I'm rarely gonna be doing, even if some trial and error is involved.
Mom and I have agreed to sort something out when she comes home from work today. She does owe me money from when I worked for her at the hospital years ago. In the meantime, I'll look up the brand of our DVD player and look for tips on how to restore the color.
It also occurred to me just yesterday that even if I'm unable to upload any footage to the computer, I could still save the secret FMV sequence to a disk, since that's already on a file, to present to Kenji next Sunday. I'll also look into downloading the prologue, which is also on YouTube, and saving that to the same disk. Even if my class does end before Kenji is done translating it (assuming he will), I can still enclose my email and home address so he can send the translation to me whenever he's ready.
