Two days ago, Jake showed me someone's review/recap of this movie called Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam (The Man Who Saves the World, a.k.a. "Turkish Star Wars"). I saved it to Dad's bookmarks list, and showed it to Dad the following morning, since he has a friend from Turkey. I suggested he show him that webpage.

Anyway, yesterday was Father's Day, and my present to him (at Mom's suggestion) was a picture of two guys standing on the edge of a catboat, apparently dropping the anchor or something (with ropes in the water). Mom put the frame on, but I wrapped it up to present to him after he got off the phone with Grandma Barbara.

Some stuff I did for him yesterday:

-Continued chopping some firewood in the backyard. He later came out with me and Mom, to try to dislodge the two wedges from a particular log. After I split that one log up, he said that everything is small enough to go onto the firewood pile.

-Washed the van. That took a short while longer than it usually takes, because I had to use the scrubbing side of a kitchen sponge and some Simple Green to scrape off what wouldn't come off with a regular sponge and soapy water.

-Microwaved a couple of hot dogs for him. I did suggest Mom go foodshopping sometime beore lunch, since we were out of burger patties. However, she did ask if I would settle for hot dogs instead.

-Moved the van from the front lawn back onto the driveway before vacuuming it. At first, I tried to do this myself, though cautiously enough that I wouldn't hit the car or any of the bushes. Dad soon came over and noticed what I was doing, and guided me the rest of the way to line it up properly.

Later on, Brian gave us a call. He spoke to Dad first, then me, and then Mom. While I was on the phone with him, he told me that Marie had planned on visiting him in California. I considered bringing it up with Marie, but when we talked about it during dinner, Mom said that plane tickets cost $400 and I would have to pay for it myself. I decided then that it wouldn't be worthwhile.
