Dec. 26th, 2005 06:48 amYesterday, before we started opening presents, someone turned the TV on, and we watched part of an episode of Punk'd. Someone was putting the star on the orphanage Christmas tree, but as soon as she did, the tree fell over crushing the presents. It's too bad the producers never came in and said "You got punk'd!" like they normally do.
I got a whole lot of stuff for Christmas. For manga, I got volume 1 of Excel Saga and Onegai Teacher each, volumes 2 and 3 of Sgt. Frog, and volume 2 of Mahoromatic. Other than that, I also got Sonic Heroes for PS2, the entire Excel Saga DVD collection, a Mad magazine with the Simpson/Griffin hybrids on the cover, a lot of chocolate candy, a book about Life In Hell, and plenty more. Dad got a Betty Boop DVD and a Bathroom Reader book among other stuff. Brian got burnt DVDs of the entire Rocko's Modern Life (which he's been asking Mom for) among other things, but I got him the PS2 game Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. My gift to Marie was a rat ball for her rat. Meanwhile, Marie's rat cage was also in the living room with us instead of in her room.
I gave Sonic Heroes a try, but it wasn't as good as I expected it to be. Mainly, instead of small animal robots containing real animals, your enemies are always Egg Pawns, which takes away the variety of enemy species. Kinda boring, isn't that? It's still a good game, though, and the music is still good, just like in most Sonic the Hedgehog games (save for the Sonic CD dub, which is just boring).
Grandma Ella came over for Christmas, and we all ate toasted cheese sandwiches together. After that, she watched several episodes of Walking With Prehistoric Beasts, on the Discovery Channel. I watched it with her for a while, but then started falling asleep and decided to go to my room.
Later on, everyone except me decided to watch a DVD episode of Northern Exposure. In the meantime, I sought a Nintendo GameCube with Sonic Adventure 1 or 2, but Mom was also making puddings. She offered one to me, and I accepted. When I continued, I found an auction that seemed worth bidding on at first, but everyone was still watching NE. While I was waiting, I decided to watch an episode of Excel Saga, and then have Mom look at said auction. She noticed that the seller only registered a month ago and has no feedback history, so it would be rash to bid immediately. I agreed with her and decided to come back tomorrow.
