Dad had to go to the hospital yesterday for an operation, and Dr. Perret wanted to see me around the same time for a special appointment. For 36 hours until his operation, Dad wasn't able to eat anything solid.

The reason Dr. Perret set up an appointment was because I had already brought up that whole issue about Dowling two sessions in a row, and he wanted to see if I had come to terms about it since last session. I told him that I had not brought the subject up with Mom since my last session with him.

While I was there several other topics were brought up. One was about bullying among kids and how condoning it goes completely against the preamble of the United States Constitution (i.e. rights to life, liberty, and security of person), which is why it should never have been tolerated in the first place. He told me that people going even as far back as the Middle Ages thought that "boys will be boys", but as time went on and thinking evolved, people have started to realize that such is not an adequate excuse.

And then, here's a quote from something I read a few days ago:

It is akin to the Scarecrow coming to Glinda the Good Witch at the end of The Wizard of Oz and asking her, "WHY didn't you just tell Dorothy to click her heels before she had to go through all this?" "She wouldn't have believed me!" says Glinda. Translation: "If it had been that simple, we couldn't have had a movie!"

In short, one of the lamest excuses to withhold information for the sake of a story's plot. But, nevermind that, teaching viewers that whatever they desire, they had all along? That's not true at all, ever!

To clear that all up, though, the real moral is that the most important asset to have in order to achieve something is one's own willpower. One has to find courage, wisdom, or love within himself, rather than seeking it out from some "special" person.

There was also another topic I would've liked to bring up with him, regarding women's hair when it's piled on top of the head, but I would have preferred to have some pics to show him when I bring it up. A list of all examples would likely require a separate entry, but I will do as little as possible to sexualize the topic (especially since someone from Princess Tutu will be mentioned in it. Also gonna hope for some input by Jake or Chelle, although the former already told me he won't be free until Monday).

Anyway, my interest in such hairstyles started out as something to associate female embarrassment with. In this case, girls w/ long hair would have their hair rise up and take some other form). In some cases, though, even when the character in question just wears their hair up by choice, it could still be attractive by itself, but it caters to me even more if it was beyond her control and embarrasses her.

And then, there are non-canon cases that appeal to me, where the girl in question could decide to restyle her hair at some point in her adulthood. Some examples would include Kasumi from Monster Collection Chronicles, Mai and/or Hikari from the Makendou series, and Kagami, Konata, and/or Miyuki from Lucky Star. If they themselves restyled their own hair that way (possibly to look more adult), there would obviously be no embarrassment to be had, but somehow, such a thought pleases me just as much as if their hair were to just restyle itself while they're still teenagers and embarrassing them. Even weirder is that such a concept is even more appealing to me than female characters who are already adults with updone hair (such as Edel from Princess Tutu).

Hoping this won't be too sexual, but if I were to compare this to anything, the concept would be similar to girls with large bust/butt sizes and/or in bikinis or anything else that reveals cleavage. Attractive quite by itself, but even more so if the girl in question is embarrassed about being almost naked or getting unwanted attention from boys. (Hence why I included that mini-paragraph about Rokuna's discomfort in Mondo & Rokuna's BIG Date.)

(Of course, if I were to actually bring it up with Dr. Perret, he'd probably tell me again, that fetishes are by definition irrational. Jake, Chelle, either of you got any insight on the topic?)

So anyway, Mom drove me back to the hospital after my session was over. She had me wheel Dad out of the hospital on a wheelchair, until we got to the car (after which he was able to walk on his own). He told me on the way out that he felt like the procedure just went by, rather than him just feeling asleep. I told him and Mom that that's what it felt like when I got my wisdom teeth removed in 2004, like they supposedly put me to sleep, and then time just skipped whatever length I had been asleep and cut right to me waking back up. I didn't even dream or see blackness.

(I guess that means eternal boredom is one less reason to worry about death. I mean, isn't that also a state of unconsciousness.)

Chelle:

What he's trying to say seems to be that people tend to handwave it, rather than acknowledge it happens. That first needs to stop before something can be done about it. Still, it's better in the West than in say, Japan, where bullying is blamed on the victim.

Fun video on the Wizard Of Oz, a parody that also attempts to answer that problem, and another:

Fetishism technically refers to arousal by objects, or the idea that objects have supernatural qualities, but in mainstream uses it for all types of sexual deviation There currently is not enough scientific insight to clearly say what causes it. Scientifically speaking, it would fall under paraphilia.

As for death, I'd more say a state of not existing at all. When one is unconscious, the brain still continues to do things.

To be honest, I'm not quite sure what type of feedback you were looking for.

Oh, like that. It's something most likely decided in your subconscious, and so there may be no obvious logic.
