Jul. 24th, 2013 06:10 amGonna give Kira tto Kaiketsu a rest for now. It is pretty good otherwise, but with as many different items as there are, it sucks that your opponents never bother to use weapons or traps. It's fun to fuck your rivals up with things like slingshots, bazookas, meteors, magnets, paper fans, and other stuff, but not when you're the only one dealing out the shit.
It's a good thing everything in this game is completely turn-based. When I decide to come back to it, I'm probably gonna take control of all four opponents in each round. This isn't like Getter Love!!, which has real-time situations and where I desperately try to win against each of my opponents. In this game, I honestly don't care who wins once everything's wrapped up. Don't get me started either as to why making actual friends is barely possible for me and wouldn't even be practical just for the sake of this one game.
Right now, I'm gonna make a point on writing certain parts of the first actual chapter of Cult, among other things that need doing. I do have certain things on mind for that first chapter, but not for much to happen for the rest of the way. This isn't the first time my muse for it has been down either. I've already told Jake twice recently that I simply don't have the willpower to write anything other than my three main stories, and even seriously considered commissioning Chelle to do whatever she would do with the concept of a twelve-member fighter team, each kid with their own weapon and elemental powers. That's what really matters, not all the filler combat scenes just for the sake of complementing an ever-increasing number of video game songs that I happen to like. Not sure if I actually will allow her or continue to keep it my own project.
For the record, Parasitic Trio and Starbound are definitively going to remain my own. The former, because that's gonna be my way of "playing" the games symbolically, all on my own terms, especially after having ditched the real games, and the latter because I can only trust myself to attempt to emulate the flavor of Earthbound, to actually research each country where the party goes at any point, and to avoid The Theme Park Version, National Stereotypes, Captain Ethnic, and Small Reference Pools regarding the world outside Japan. Cult, though, is something I could only trust Chelle with, given her knowledge as to how everything in Mon Colle Knights, as well as the Monster Collection franchise in general, works. Other people tend to make stuff up as they go along, as would be exemplified in Being With You (by fallen pheniox), Dark Winged Angel (by Kitt Chaos), and probably everything by Fairygal11 (none of which I've actually read, but did read about in Chelle's blog).
Regarding the fic, I'm gonna need to go into detail about what used to make me want to write it and what it hinges on nowadays. That'll be a separate entry, even apart from what I'm gonna write about it on 9/11 this year.
