Oct. 30th, 2014 05:38 amFrom the characterization spreadsheet I was working on, one thing led me to work on something else and something else. Had a look at that game script, created some supplementary documents, and most importantly, I finally got around to creating a TV Tropes page for Starbound.

Told Jake about it last night, and he told me that I have just opened a can of worms by creating the page. This forum thread that he then showed me for the second time describes some writer-related issues with the site, but frankly, I find their arguments void, citing why as McKnight. At his request, I did blank the page out, but someone else has restored it and my editing privileges have been suspended for until someone reads a post I've left regarding what I've done.
I actually did try to create a page in All The Tropes, but while naming a new page is simple enough, there doesn't seem to be any way to distinguish a given work from another one of the same name. If I find out how to do that, I'll be sure to create a page there; otherwise, it can wait until I start making the game, which will be titled Day of the Beehive. (Not an excuse not to use that site instead; having thought things through after the convo, I would have restored the TVT page myself either way, and it could have been created just as easily by anyone else.)

Right now, I'm just overwhelmed with all kinds of aspects to look at. Need a break from characterization, and having had a look at the game script only rekindles my interest in a project that I'm not gonna be making public for years to come. Well, always best to focus on one aspect at a time, rather than the whole thing, and right now, I might just be in the mood to create some sprites before getting Brian to program them to do certain things.
