Mar. 3rd, 2015 07:38 amDownloaded a pre-patched ROM copy of Arn's Winter Quest yesterday from EmuParadise. Not sure if there's actually any reason left to play it, though. (Here was the original reason why I played that and the Halloween hack.)
Not having felt up to actually starting a new file in that game at that point in the day, I decided instead to do a few minor things in Halloween, on an online emulator called Let's Play SNES. Spent the whole afternoon level-grinding in Twoson, just to try my hand against the overpowered enemies on the paths to Onett and Peaceful Rest Valley (the secret is to numb them first). Those are as follow:
Blue Antoid: 360 HP. 37 exp, same amount as from their original Earthbound counterparts (or from a PseudoZombie).
Super Duper Shroom: 600 HP. 9,500 exp, 100 times more than its original counterpart.
Shadow Shrub: 784 HP, with such an insane Defense stat that I could only land 1 damage at a time (8 with each SMAAASH! hit, being at level 16). Yields 13,300 exp upon defeat, which, once again, is 100 times its original counterpart.
It took more than an hour just to kill the one Shadow Shrub alone, and I had gone to bed at 8:20, more than an hour past the time I normally do so. Didn't bother to save the game, though, because I had already beaten the game two years ago anyway (in only a day, no less). Thought initially that I might try to see if any of those enemies drop anything, but given how ridiculously hard they'd probably still be against Varik at level 99, it's probably not worth it. (Didn't bother to see how much money you earn by defeating them either, but whatever.) The only other thing I plan to do, is to see what these "?" enemies are around Stonehenge that I have only noticed the other day in Che'ro Fae'lynn's playthrough (s/he didn't actually engage with any of them), and that's still pretty early in the game.

About Arn's Winter Quest... Well, now that Jake has backed out of writing The Original Story, I've already commissioned someone else with the project.
But anyway, Magicant is defined as a landscape representation of relevant someone's mind and memories (Maria in Earthbound Zero; Ness in Earthbound; Dr. Andonuts in the Halloween hack). GeminiKnightZ told me that he was going on some kind of trip, so when he gets back, I'm going to show him skullkid3's Let'sPlay, in hopes that we can brainstorm what the game could be like as the Original Ones' Magicant. Gonna have to watch it for myself before I PM it to him, though, just to see how long it is and if there's anything I make special mention of when I contact him.
