Nov. 11th, 2015 05:43 amOn our way to the ferry station two nights ago, Mom noticed some Christmas lights already attached to this train car attached to The Curry Club, and commented on how stupid it is that they're all set for the holidays not even halfway through November. I in turn mentioned this having been referred to by James Rolfe in one of his webseries You Know What's Bullshit? as a "glutton of a holiday".

Some more discussion later, I mention that this is what comes with consumerism, and Brian in turn suggested that as Starbound material. Keeping up with the concept of ironic distance, he did suggest that I think of some variation of Christmas, but I did tell him that Lucky Star is set specifically in the real world, and that I knew from the very beginning that certain compromises would need to be reached for the project, due to the very different natures between LS and the Earthbound trilogy. (Also had to mention that it isn't a crossover either, save for a few characters imported from Mon Colle Knights.)
It only occurred to me yesterday what a coincidence it is, that Earthbound hack Arn's Winter Quest actually does have its own variation of Christmas, known as the EB no Matsuri, during which the Annual Gift Man is said to come by and give everyone copies of Earthbound.
