Mom, Dad, and Grandma went out to this tenement museum yesterday. I declined to go with them, but would later wonder why.

Even though poverty is a depressing subject to begin with, that isn't the reason I stayed home in the first place. What I particularly came to regret was missing out on an opportunity to do something special with my folks. Like, I did manage more of a nap than usual, for the sake of playing a round of Kiratto Kaiketsu! in the evening and then sleeping in later than usual this morning while Brian himself would be asleep upon coming home late last night. But then, I considered playing an extra round of the game during the afternoon, but that can't be the only reason I stayed home. (I didn't even do that much with the Parasitic Trio outline, and if Brian was already here and interested, I very much would have gone out with everyone.)

Brought it up with Jake and Marie at different points. The latter told me I would've been bored there, and suggested I watch something special as long as I have the house to myself. Decided from there to watched two episodes of Jessica Jones, something Chelle used to reblog stuff all the time about on Tumblr and I had been somewhat curious about since.

(On that note, I had also recently considered watching this other show, Steven Universe, that she still does reblog stuff about. Not so sure, though, after reading about this one time that Greg gets pushed off a roof being played for laughs, but I might be able to tolerate that if it's a one-off thing.)

Turned out I actually made the better choice. According to Mom when she came home, it was pouring rather heavily in the city, the place they ate out at was extremely packed (something Grandma took pictures of to prove), and they were too exhausted to bother visiting this bakery that Grandma told me about and buying something for me.

Before they actually got home, though, Mom called me several times, and at one point asked me if I already ate. I told her that I held off on eating in case she planned on making something, but then she suggested I make some macaroni and cheese for myself. Turned out we didn't have that, but I did bring up a box of mezzo rigatoni instead and cooked that up. Cooked the whole box, and while it was kind of a lot for just myself, Grandma decided to have some as well, and Mom also had me heat the oven up to cook some garlic bread in, also commenting on how nice it was to come home to have dinner in the middle of preparation.

Not much happened after that, aside from Dad putting on this episode of Popeye that we've never seen before, even on our DVD set (actually the second episode we've watched just recently; the first being one we've already seen before, but with the audio muted when Popeye dances w/ Betty Boop). Said episode involved Popeye trying to get Bluto to sign up to fight against the Japanese and the Germans or something, and ended with them punching out some Japanese soldiers and Hitler.

(Brian had to postpone his arrival for later today, and so, I decided to have the evening off from staying up so that I'd be fresh today when we all go to see Aunt Janie and her friends for lunch. Gonna play my game for one round right now while we await him.)
