Dec. 23rd, 2019 05:01 amJust spent this past weekend at Aunt Allison's with Mom and Marie. I wasn't originally going to come with them, but then decided in the last morning two days ago that I could use a break from my projects, Wanikani, and checking stuff obsessive-compulsively.
-----
A funny thing that happened two days ago, the second of two people to date got back to me just seventeen minutes before I woke up, on a question I asked on Food Fantasy Wiki.
In case anyone's curious, what I asked was why, White Truffle and several rices aside, there are hardly any Food Souls representing fruits, vegetables (even cooked), or nuts. The reason that occurred to me is because Luxury Bananas are common throughout Mother 3, but then again, all such else that game has to offer are nuts, mushrooms, and baked yams (mostly when life in Tazmily Village is relatively simple), and Earthbound only has Magic Truffles (and water, for that matter) along with bananas. If anything, those two games would seem to line up with Food Fantasy already.
The answers both users gave pretty much boils down to focus on cuisine and culture (even though we also have milk, several cheeses, etc.) and whatever the developers can draw inspiration from for design and characterization.
-----
Not much happened before we left home or reached Pennsylvania, although I did manage to re-read volume 1 of The Isolator and continue with Hatsune Miku: Mikubon. However, we did notice that the mountainsides we passed were covered in cascades of water that were completely frozen.
Aunt Allison had also recommended this place called Just Barbecue to us to eat at, which had some kind of mechanical pig used for something. As it turned out, though, it had already gone out of business, and we stopped instead at Kentucky Fried Chicken for the first time ever for stuff to bring over for lunch.
Blas, Carlos, and Grandpa Bob were both there with Allison when we got to the house. Later in the afternoon, we brought Grandpa to shop around at Cabela's.
The next morning, I managed to finish Mikubon, and started reading v. 1 of Shugo Chara (from Savers). Allison and Blas left some time before we did, but left Carlos behind w/ Grandpa, who also stayed behind as we left.
(Next time we go there, I should bring something to block this opening in the basement door before approaching Allison's cats.)

For lunch coming home, we stopped at a McDonald's, were going to order at the drive-thru originally, but decided just to park and let Marie head inside, given how slow the line was moving. Even inside, though, she had to wait around for her orders for all of us after having placed that on a machine and receiving a ticket. At some point, I joined her, and then we headed back minutes later, Mom took over with waiting, and was told that only three staff members were working the kitchen for the day. (I'm willing to bet that if people still waited in lines before ordering right at the counter like in the old days, those lines would've been pretty long, and we would've just left and sought a different place.)
And, not much else happened for the rest of the ride home or actually back home.
