So I checked Genshin Impact's actual menu, and it turns out that almost half of it, foods that boost stats, apply to the entire party. For everything wrong with Food Fantasy (not helped by how its NA server has been managed at least as of last summer), this alone might be even more of a dealbreaker for me, hitting one of the very core criteria I look for in games. Not only do I prefer that most foods feed one character at a time, but most of the food items in question are on a simple plate or bowl, rather than on a platter or something, and I'm having an especially hard time believing that with the breakfast sandwich (two presented in the icon) or fried radish balls (all on a single stick). (For perspective, Star Ocean also had this issue, but while mis-matched one/all application is exactly one of those things I plan to commission a fix for, only eleven items in total restore HP or MP for everyone in your party.)

Not helping either is that, from what I've read, most of your exp comes from items that will become increasingly scarce as the game progresses. Those guides actually urge you to select one character as your primary fighter to give the lion's share of your resources, with three others completing your party to take care of secondarily. Like, I know it's a gachapon game, where you can keep recruiting more and more people, but even Food Fantasy allows you to farm experience bottles with which to catch your Food Souls up, at least whenever you have an abundance of stamina (which itself is not usually hard to come by, even if you have to wait hours every now and then for what you use up to recharge).

Not to worry, though. My next choice will be The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross of Light and Darkness. Might take some time to read up about that, but in all likelihood, it's gonna be months and months before I'd actually play that or anything else that might make its way to Game Gourmet, since by the 1st of next month, I will already be a lot closer to reviving stuff under Wanikani level 60, after which point my overall workload will die down somewhat and I'll be able to try out Revenant Kingdom, something I actually plan on creating a walkthrough for, without putting the program on hold altogether.
