Someone confirmed on Reddit yesterday that there isn't much of a market for translations, and even less of one for Japanese-to-English.
This officially defeats my main reason for doing Wanikani, and I am putting that on the back burner indefinitely. If I ever find time to do it again, I might wipe my slate clean and start over with it, hopefully recognizing about half the material from these past four years.
It's a good thing I'm already learning something else I could build a career upon. Maybe once I hit my next dead-end (and can't even find answers online) when Brian isn't available to look into anything, complete my current agenda otherwise, and play through Suikoden II afterwards, I will start looking into learning C# apart from Unity.
Now that I have no way left to gauge in phases how close I am to being able to market myself, I have considered commissioning early for some ROMhacks and mods that I want, something I was holding off on until I start making money, just to hold myself over. Still sleeping on that until at the very least I make an upcoming bank deposit, but if I do decide to, I will probably do business with one person at a time, closing the position each time I find someone worth hiring (also to stay under the radar).

Brian and Emily have returned home last night.
