dmxratedThe other day at the gym, I noticed something half-familiar playing on the TV, that turned out to be Be My Lover by La Bouche. Pulled that up on YouTube the next morning, and at some point upon watching again, I followed another clip to one of her other songs, Sweet Dreams, and sure enough, that turned out to be something I remembered hearing when I was ten and always wondered what it was since.
Namely, the part that begins 14 seconds in.

Some time ago, I sang those eight notes while asking Mom, Brian, and Emily if any of them knew the song in question, but Mom guessed this even older song by Squeeze, called Cool For Cats, 56 seconds in.
Just after last night's episode of Asuka, Mom was doing something on her phone, and at one point, I went online and decided to show her. She said that while she does notice this artist to have sampled other songs, she had never heard of her before, and obviously wouldn't remember some random song from when she had us kids in the car while waiting for our bus while it was raining.
