Nov. 11th, 2023 06:17 amBrian had to get his windshield replaced somewhere yesterday morning, and since Mom had a half-day at work, he had to call Aunt Marie instead to come get him. I came with her to meet him.
Lately, Maris has been down with a cold, and that's what the two of them talked about for half the ride back.
At one point, I asked him if he likes donuts, to which he responded that he usually prefers jelly whenever he gets one. I offered to get one for each of us at the gas station if he takes me to Bagel Lovers; he declined but said he might be up for one today, but also stated that that might be the most practical choice for lunch, being near Auto Zone where he had yet to go anyway.
I then brought up the issue of monetizing my YouTube channel, and he warned me immediately out of that. His main issue was that the person who offered to promote me is most likely trying just to extort me; I offered to show him what they offered to do for me, but he declined.
We had just arrived back home when that discussion ended, and I went on to google about monetization in general, and found one article specifying criteria that I do not meet before one should consider such a thing.

(To be honest, I was actually a bit leery myself about committing myself to create content regularly, considering how hard it is to find people willing to create ROMhacks first so that I can not only play each game on my terms but link to them from their respective walkthrough where most people will likely read only once and then move on. If anything, I should probably revisit this whole issue if I ever managed to get multiple hacks in the pipeline, with multiple games more already covered in my channel, when the difference between affording ROMhacks more easily and having to play almost everything raw just to maintain a fanbase won't likely be such a crapshoot.)
(That said, in order to keep my options open for the future, I should still take at least 12 seconds longer after I conclude my gameplay et al, before I stop recording each video itself, in order to leave room for end-of-clip ad buttons. (Won't be an issue with Disgaea, though, when I already tend to space out after concluding each session of that game and updating my spreadsheets.))

For the first time at Bagel Lovers when we actually ate there, I noticed these packaged cookies, and decided to take a Chocolate Overload one, shown with chocolate cream inside.
Saved it for home, though, and it would remain sealed once we'd see a box of large cupcakes that Aunts Marie and Tracy bought somewhere, that they planned to share around once everyone was here. They did offer to let me have one early, but I agreed that we should all have them together, and instead had the remainder of some chocolate thins from Meat Farms the other day, just to tide myself over. (Also managed to share one each with Marie and Tracy; Dad was there as well, but declined to have any.)
While pouring my glass of milk to go with them, I used up what little oat milk turned out to be left, and supplemented that with half the remainder of Dad's whole milk. Left the oat milk jug in the sink as a reminder to fetch some more of each type from upstairs after I finish eating, but while we had three jugs unopened of oat milk after one still half full there, there weren't any more of whole milk.
Shortly after sorting out what dishes were back downstairs to be dealt with, I walked all the way down to Stop&Shop for just the one item, also to get a bit of exercise in while I was at it. Mom met me in the car not even halfway back, and decided to bring me back to the shopping center to shop around at Savers as long as we were out there.
For this visit, she landed a picture frame with an embroidered United Kingdom flag, which she suggested I hang somewhere in the apartment. Even though I was born in America, Dad is British-born, and Mom herself also has some English blood, and she thought it would be nice to celebrate one's heritage.
She ended up bringing it upstairs when we arrived home, while I got our mail and brought that in along with the milk.

For last night, we had originally planned to dine out at some Indian place other than The Curry Club. Dad, however, has been particularly sick this past week, and especially several days before everyone came over, and we decided to order some stuff instead.
Either way, had I remembered such plans, I would have gotten a bagel for lunch instead of a Fire Island hero (not something I feel like having again either). To that point, I had been so full that I only had one piece of tandoori chicken, a bit of coconut rice, one piece of naan bread, and a mango lassi for dinner.
Emily wasn't able to come, having to tend to Maris in her condition, but it was after dinner that we all had a cupcake each. I took one styled after a Hostess cupcake, with the same cream inside as that comprising that swirly stripe.
