dmxratedUncle Robby and Cousin Adam came to visit yesterday. Since I have work from 9 to 2 on most days, including yesterday, we ate our usual combined lunch and dinner w/ family at around 3 or 4 instead of at noon. (At Mom's suggestion, I refrained from having lunch at work, having had an apple and some yogurt with blueberries and honey instead shortly before she drove me out, and I was able to work for four straight hours before grabbing just a drink.)
Shortly before we had dinner, Brian, Emily, Marie, and Drew were all in the living room, and I joined them. I brought up how outdated the myth of Santa Claus is since most houses today don't have chimneys or fireplaces. A bit of discussion ensued from there that included this movie called The Santa Clause that Mom took us to see as kids, and this one episode of Family Guy that shows what his operations would be like and the toll it would take on everyone's mental health involved, before we decided to put the Santa Tracker on TV.
Early at dinner, Marie commented how ironic it is that she got laid off right when I got a new job. Mom had told me recently what happened due to an incident involving her company's self-driving cars, from which she got a choice between severance pay and a position she was not interested in.
