For starters, I decided that I would present all four of them at the hospital, and instead had the remaining four of those peppermint patties for my snack.
Spoke with Mom later, some time after she came home from work, and she told me that Dad's appetite is basically shot right now. Even just to visit him might not be worthwhile for me, since while he would appreciate my company, he would not be very good company himself right now, and there is only one chair to sit on.
Mom did offer to drop me off at the mall, though, and I decided to take her up on that. By that point, she was already re-steaming some chicken and rice, which basically ruled out buying a meal there, but I did get myself a cup of pralines 'n' cream ice cream with Reese's Pieces and colored marshmallows.
Looked around at both anime and manga, but nothing really sparked my interest. Eventually read a few pages instead of Magical Girl Raising Project: Jokers, which I had already started reading a sample of during my longer lunch breaks at work, before Mom came to pick me back up.
