Jul. 22nd, 2024 04:26 amAunt Allison and Uncle Blas came yesterday to stay for a couple of days. They are staying in the apartment, and I am back down in my old bedroom for now.

This week is one of those weeks where The Week did not come on Saturday but will be likely coming today. While I haven't been reading it much lately aside from the crosswords, I did notice yesterday, its Briefing page where Dad left it open on the toilet, to cover the ongoing war in Sudan. Decided to give that a read (followed by a few other things), because that is where Nurşen is going to wind up at one point, since that was already such a hot topic back in the '0s when Starbound takes place.
Last night, I noticed the main article on its business page to cover a backlash that Tractor Supply Co. has received for doing away with something called Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion to appease its predominantly conservative customer base. Showed that to Mom, and she's like "Looks like we're not going there anymore."
(If I were still looking for jobs, or had just gotten laid off from Walmart, I would make a point now not to apply there, just like I avoided Costco (beyond the occasional snack or meal) and The Home Depot (beyond that one time or so, at Mom's suggestion) for their support for Autism Speaks. That charity event for CMN had already reminded me, that nevermind boycotting anything that any AS event would have to offer so as not to contribute to such a destructive organization, I probably wouldn't be working at Walmart in the first place had that appeared on AS' sponsor page.)
