dmxratedI have called things off about Mother 3 for now.
Mom had gotten fed up two nights ago with trying to steer me onto the right path, and remained irate into the morning. This did not feel like any kind of win for me, as tired as I already was with her undermining a major reason I wished to start earning a quick buck each week.
It's bad enough that I had backslided on a certain promise, even if I had limited my business to just one game, but what hurt the most was her perception that I'm not gaining any actual enjoyment out of these ROMhacks, when I pay individually, more than half my paycheck, for change after change before I actually play anything. Especially hard to explain when I can't help but clam up.
I did manage upon waking up, to explain the particular situation to date regarding Earthbound, which I actually had played and started over a few times early this year, in an email apologizing particularly for breaking a promise like I had.
For now, all that's left is to await Vadim's next update, and then put him in charge of the remaining changes (two each) to Earthbound and Super Mario RPG either before or after he finishes up with Earthbound Zero. Those two or three should prove some actual enjoyment to derive from what I've been funding, while he then works on Mother 3, before I hire anyone new or resume things with Raymond or Jonathan.
I had already long promised a showcase video towards the end of my second Getter Love!! website video. Something like that should help to show Mom what had actually gone on, and I should also specify there what I want changed for M3, complete with the option for anyone interested to donate or take that job up.
Beyond those, I am probably going to seek changes mostly to games I haven't listed that many to date for, after playing those raw first to see what else I'd want modded. Games with around a dozen due can be spaced further apart.
