Dec. 20th, 2024 07:31 amThis slipped my mind yesterday, but on our way to Texas, Drew had done some more troubleshooting after I had failed to receive a signal 47 minutes earlier, that being either when Brian was driving me home from work or shortly after we had arrived home, for Uguu Blue. However, we agreed instead to disable the signal for that group for me, so that I could focus at work and catch up at my leisure, and to text me directly for anything important, an even better solution than to have removed me outright from the original Uguu Crew before.
Sure enough, I did still receive the alert when Marie texted me directly, while still hearing nothing from Uguu Blue.
-----
Drew had to leave yesterday, and needed to be on his way to the airport at 10.
More than an hour beforehand, though, he, I, Brian, and Marie had all gathered in the apartment. I asked if Drew would like to watch something before he leaves, and Marie and Brian also took me up.
Decided upon Magical Girl Raising Project, after having specified that to be where my text alert comes from during our first troubleshooting attempt on Tuesday, and also after having already watched episodes 1 and 2 of A Little Snow Fairy Sugar four times recently, and especially without Emily or Maris present (even though episode 6 is when the carnage really begins, the prologue is still quite bloody). (Even though that show is available on Crunchyroll, where I set it up despite that month for Hidive I paid for, Brian would have to see Made In Abyss from its beginning. Release the Spyce would've been a better pick, though, had it not been for that text signal and what I specified originally just for small talk, and then there is one show I'm saving now for Mom and would like to start rewatching with fresh eyes.)
The four of us watched the entire first episode together, but Drew took the end credits to start getting ready to leave. I did momentarily consider setting up episode 4 or 9 of Kanon or Lucky Star respectively (for Brian and Marie respectively) then, but decided just to run on the momentum we had already built up.
Drew did come back for the end of the episode, before we headed downstairs shortly before they left.
I had considered coming with them, but Brian told me it would be over two hours before they'd arrive back home. Stayed home, and took care of something Christmas-related with Mom.
-----
Some time after he and Marie came home, I joined Brian as he put on The Snowman for Maris, whom he brought home from the Maloneys' after Emily's turn with her. Mom and Marie were at Costco at that time, but came home towards the end.
After it ended, Brian seemingly went to do something, but Aunt Marie let a few episodes run of Thomas the Tank Engine.
-----
So far for this visit, Brian had been sleeping in Marie's old bedroom. With Maris now here, he asked to trade spaces with me and sleep on the futon in the apartment, which has more space to put her to sleep with him than on Marie's bed.
I tried to shower off, but it amounted to little more than a simple rinse as the water got cold. Came out to ask what had happened, but upon asking Aunt Marie shortly thereafter, something had already been wrong with the plumbing for several days. (Mom agreed to call a plumber this morning, but this being a busy time of year, it may be a few days before they actually come to fix things up.)
Sure enough, I did still receive the alert when Marie texted me directly, while still hearing nothing from Uguu Blue.
