Sugar and spyce, maybe?
Dec. 23rd, 2024 05:35 amMeant to mention when Drew left, that he had gotten me a large mousepad spanning even underneath my keyboard.

Got around to unpackaging that Slant CD the other day.
Upon skimming through the in-album lyrics two days ago, it turns out that only three songs, titled Junk Mail, Morse Code, and Nuclear Age, do not talk about love or hate, two things way overused (especially by female artists) in pop and by extension dance. (Been thinking of listing on Google Docs, any songs I can think of that aren't about love, hate, sex, or dancing, ranging from various songs by such jazz artists as Louis Jordan and Cab Calloway back in the '40s, to, say, Who Let the Dogs Out? by the Baha Men in 2000 (not counting such genres of course as rap or metal, where those topics are scarce anyway).)
Also found out upon checking the SputnikMusic page myself, that that band had released at least one other album, Reindeer Pie. Unfortunately, I was not able to find that on eBay or anywhere else, and to begin with, the copy of Try This that I did buy clearly belonged originally to some library.

Yesterday morning, I managed to invite Brian and Marie both upstairs to watch something. Now that Maris is gone, I thought of bringing Brian up to speed with Made in Abyss, but while Hidive does specify that the regular TV series is two seasons long, only the second of those is currently available.
Decided instead on Release the Spyce. Admittedly did feel slightly awkward coming off from Sugar, but not as much as Asuka would have (also trying to make good use of my Hidive subscription, and with Sugar already on DVD, I now have something else on mind for in case we bring Maris upstairs again, whose first season I did check for).

Despite being the weekend yesterday, Mom had to work a few hours in the afternoon, and offered in advance to drop me off at the mall.
She dropped me off at Macy's, and on my way over to the food court, I made a wrong turn but discovered several other places. One of those happened to be Texas de Brazil, which was actually empty unlike nearly everywhere else. Decided to check that out, but was told that the full experience would cost $60. Mom had advised me to eat lightly anyway, since Brian and Marie were making some stuff for dinner, and I made the rest of my way to the food court.
Got some pepperoni pretzel nuggets and blue raspberry lemonade at Auntie Anne's, but there was not an empty table in sight, and I had to move across three just to be able to settle down. (No surprise there, given how hectic things can get at my job on a weekend.)
With that, I bypassed Häagen-Dazs and decided instead to get some Oreo boba tea at this place called Black Pearl, in the same few places as TdB. Did have to wait in line, but there were a few seats free there after I placed the order.

As for Barnes & Noble, no manga or light novels really stood out to me. Skimmed through the current issue of OtakuUSA, along with a drawing guide and a magazine about the history of manga and anime.
