Apr. 29th, 2025 06:55 amWhat started that File Explorer fiasco was an attempt to download an apk of Disgaea 1 Complete somewhere for someone I had put in charge of that game when I first came back to PeoplePerHour. I then remembered that that wasn't even what I did when I put Jonathan in charge of Epic Battle Fantasy 4 all those months ago, and went on to ask Sarah to refund me so that I can make a new deposit to account for the cost of her game. My request was denied upon review, and she went on to send invoices for part of what was in escrow to pay for the game. This person didn't even sound so convincing as Muhammad had before, and I rejected each and every one for a good few days, even after I reported her and landed her an administrator warning, until she finally let up for a full 24 hours and gave me an opening to raise another refund request, which blocks further communication until a customer support team can review things.
Last week, I had opened another project, for some pictures, and managed to hire four people out of a total of seventeen. Two of them have been doing a really good job each, but the other two proved barely capable of following my instructions, doing entirely different things from what I ask, never fulfilling some instructions, or sometimes making changes I request only to undo them. At one point early on, I ask one of these, Mary, for a refund, but that, too, got denied with the stated reason "Refund cancelled. Possible negotiation terms from Freelancer" (same one stated with Sarah). Like with Sarah, I got a chance to raise another refund request on Saturday, and to do the same with the other one, Bisma, the next morning.
Yesterday, I go to the forum to ask what it would take for a customer support team to realize that I should not have to either keep giving the same instructions or resign my money to someone who is just fucks around. Followed a link from there to the site's Discord channel to ask the same thing, and a staff member there answers me immediately, stating how common it is to have to plug away a few times before someone takes a close enough look at my workstreams. I give him the links to all three streams, and all three deposits are suddenly refunded to me in credit.
Bisma and Mary then go into overdrive and start spamming me with invoices and deposit requests faster than I can decline them, until Tom, the person who had just advised and refunded me, suggests I archive each stream. I do that, only to get one more deposit request from Bisma. Complained back to Tom, but then realized that I had missed her. Even after I tell him it's all good, though, he still went on terminate her account, stating that her record shows similarly poor work with other clients. (What a lucky mistake there, now that the site has one less bullshitter for anyone else to cross paths with.)
With the money I now have in PPH credit, I have asked Mr. Tenda if he could look into creating an account there when he is ready to resume business with me. (I have also asked someone this morning, currently in charge of Marenian Tavern Story, if he would be willing to refund me at this point, given certain doubts he has recently expressed at getting his task done in a timely manner.)
