Oct. 30th, 2025 06:42 amForgot while typing yesterday's entry, that I was already planning to take today off.
Weekly Starbucks challenges are usually either lettered or numbered, depending on whether they require you to visit at least once a day for a number thereof or just buy something a certain number of times. This week's was numbered, but I decided to ensure my bonus stars and just finish that off.
Got some turkey bacon and cheddar cheese on an English muffin with my first coffee before starting my shift. Second, which I reloaded my in-app gift card one last time for, was on my first fifteen, and I got a birthday cake pop with that.
-
1:00 was my lunch hour, and I happened to cross paths with Michelle, one of my old team leads who is now a coach, after washing my hands in the restroom near the back hallway (having come there from the break room), and told her about my upcoming departure.
-
For lunch, while online ordering was down for technical difficulties, I was already planning to order in person in order to use up what was on my card and then select my credit card in the app to pay my remaining costs with.
While waiting in line, I decided to check my messages, and got an email from Tropical advertising that some seasonal smoothie flavors (currently unspecified) will become available on the 5th. Definitely coming to work that day, which will be when I plan to start using up my points there, and it's a good thing the next rainfall is currently predicted for the 8th, after I wrap things up.
Was originally going to order a chocolate cake pop for my snack, to go with a tomato and mozzarella sandwich, but noticed some baked apple croissants in the display case, and decided to get one of those instead.
My star balance now sits at 273. Gonna see on Monday what the next challenge will entail, before I resume business at Starbucks. (Tomorrow's focus will be on Bagel Boss, for which I have 73 Boss Points out of 100 required for a $10 discount.)
-----
Before I had left the house, I sent Mom a link to something I wrote up on Google Docs, to print initially three copies of, one each for Robert, Jeyson, and Edwin. Started asking her to print more copies throughout the day as more people came to mind who are simply friendly enough to greet me, starting with a checkout attendant named Tony.
Late in the day, I was greeted by a custodian named Frank, who told me that he will be taking up security next week.
Two hours later, just minutes before my shift ended, I crossed paths with Eric, a mechanic, and filled him in as well.
-
Mom forgot her phone and wallet at home upon coming to pick me up, and had me run into the bank to pick up $25 in fives for a hairdresser fee. She brought the copies I requested thus far of that farewell letter, and I went back into the store after fetching her money to re-find Frank and Eric each. Someone confirmed Frank to have had already left, and I was not able to find Eric either, but I did find Jeyson in the back of the store to give two copies to, one to relay to Edwin.
