Nov. 1st, 2025 06:46 amGot up yesterday morning to ask Mom before she'd be off to work, how much coffee grounds I should scoop into her mocha pot that I haven't used in a while. I explained at her request, that I was planning to cut back on sugar at home, hence no sugar-filled Korean instant coffee that Emily introduced to us a while ago, before treating myself to somewhat more sugar than usual throughout my workday, by including a fudge brownie and some sugary coffee in a Bagel Boss order, partly to boost my purchase to $27 in exchange for the 27 boss points I'd need to complete 100 for a discount. She seemed to misinterpret that as $27 worth of brownies and went on to lecture me, but I eventually did mention including a side salad in my order, which cleared things up naturally somewhat.

Normally, I ask my busdriver to let me off at the pharmacy entrance, the one I'm normally in charge of when I actually start work, mainly because that one happens to be closer to the breakroom than is the market entrance. Yesterday was the exception so that I could see who'd be there before checking the pharmacy entrance and the breakroom before storing my farewell letters in my locker. Sure enough, Tony was right there, and I gave his letter right to him.

For my actual meal at Bagel Boss mid-morning, I ordered a lox sandwich, an Israeli salad, a fudge brownie with sprinkles, and a mocha that didn't actually taste very sweet despite an extra shot that I ordered.

Shortly after starting my actual shift, I ran into a coach named Aaron, whom I have seen before with Doreen in her office. Having forgotten the last time I saw this checkout attendant named Roberta, I asked him if she even still works at the store. He told me that he isn't in charge of the front end, and suggested I ask Elizabeth, who is actually a coach who doubles as a substitute manager for Doreen.
Elizabeth told me that Doreen, who wasn't in the store at that time, would have information about employees.
Managed to cross paths with Frank and Eric each early shortly thereafter, along with another checkout attendant named Marcía whose name I had forgotten. (She was one of two whose copies Mom had yet to print up, the other being another one named Zinora.)

Being full from Bagel Boss, I decided simply to order a watermelon-strawberry lemonade at Charley's with a $5 discount I already had from recently. Had trouble figuring out how to apply it, but the folks there gave it to me for free regardless. Noticed afterwards that I had a couple of hours to actually apply it after having simply activated it, but I will probably re-activate it soon to buy a peach lemonade.
Went on to try to buy a bag of dark chocolate banana bites at Bagel Boss, but my points proved unusable for in person. Guess I'll try ordering a latte instead with them at some point.
-
Elizabeth alerted me when Doreen showed up near the end of my shift. Went to her office, and she told me that Roberta is on a leave of absence and is supposed to return at the end of this month. Gave her my letter to her to deliver for me.

Had a Healthy Choice fudge bar instead of a Häagen-Dazs crunch bar after dinner last night.
Currently, WeatherUnderground now predicts rain for Monday. Gonna take that day off if that still stands, and then use my remaining PPTO for a lateness on Thursday, my longest day remaining. (Will still have to see Starbucks' challenge for that week and whether or not it's worth attempting.)
