Nov. 16th, 2025 05:42 amAunt Marie and I managed to watch two more episodes of ChäoS;HEAd two days ago.
-----
Uncle Ray took all of us for a slow ride around Lake Meade that he and Aunt Marie now live by (they actually sold their old house at some point), except for Mom and Maris (Brian and Emily could not actually find a lifejacket for Maris, since those are seasonal). Mom suggested I bring my wool hat, but it turned out not to be overly chilly, and I wound up wishing I had brought a baseball cap that I once purchased at Walmart, until Ray gave me his before pulling his hood up.
We managed to spot ducks, geese, turtles, eagles, and in my case, a beaver scurrying up a slope. We also came to the point where Aunt Marie had previously led us from through the woods, and I managed to get a view of a Panera Bread restaurant that she had seen then but I couldn't.
-----
Cousin David had agreed to pick up some Indian takeout for us.
After having already packed both ChäoS;HEAd and A Little Snow Fairy Sugar away for when we'd head home yesterday, I decided instead to show Marie an episode of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. Emily had stuff to do, and Brian was seated but focused mostly on his phone. I asked him after it ended if he noticed most of the visuals it had to offer, but he said that the whole issue of looking for girls is not very relatable to him anymore, now that he has long settled on Emily and had a child with her.
I loaded up Shake Your Groove Thing soon as we started eating dinner. (That particular song did play at Walmart a few times, but its scene in An Extremely Goofy Movie did come up on my YouTube feed earlier on, and I thought to check it out after hearing it the first time at Walmart. Despite the title and lyrics, the characters dance much more elaborately, using all body parts throughout the song.)
The radio played through a number of other disco songs from there. Shortly after hearing Stayin' Alive, I stopped it in the middle of Burn Baby Burn to play No Time to Talk, which samples SA. (It then went on to play I'm a Sucker For You, yet another one of those love songs which, in its case, I never even liked the melody whenever it would play at Walmart.)
Showed David the end of my previous entry, mainly to clear things up with him about that "CYOA" game I supposedly played, and he wound up reading the whole thing. Turns out the game he mentioned to Brian in the first place is called Dispatch, where you're in charge of an organization of ex-supervillains and have to assign missions while negotiating office politics and such.
Shortly thereafter, I paused the radio to show David my recent video (didn't think Marie or Ray would find it that interesting, since gaming is mostly a sideline thing for them and the video itself is pretty much old news by now. I did test search terms in advance this time, though). He mentioned his familiarity with Earthbound, which appears at the end of the video, and with the fact that it's actually the second in a trilogy of games, and I reminded him that Brian and I were the one who first sent him our original copy of that game in August 1996 (in exchange for Marie and Ray's copy of Super Bomberman, a year before they sent me a permanent one) until Grandma Barbara brought it back while visiting us in December that year.
(Coming off from the previous entry's stuff about butts, the angle of the pic I used initially to censor Gmail with is somewhat of a coincidence. Not sure whether that had to do with the male gaze or a more dynamic look than more directly sideward; could be both, I'd imagine. Either way, I should mention that that girl is actually talking to you while strutting about whenever that scene takes place in the game itself (the reason she's facing you from over her shoulder), although whatever she's saying is something I'm saving for myself for when I start playing the fan-translation for YouTube (still gonna be a while).)
(On that note, I did watch this video recently, about this horror game's title image, Aftermath Z: Red Pine Lake, getting censored on Steam for supposedly focusing on a woman's butt, even though the actual focus was on the eponymous lake, with said woman in a swimsuit but off-center while actually gazing over said lake. Among other things, said video addresses some sexist implications with such a move and the rationale therefor.)

Yesterday was our return home, which is why I wasn't gonna be able to write anything from above then. Brian and Emily had already left the house before Mom and I each woke up, and we left at around 6:30, when it got as light as Mom wanted before crossing a bridge early on.
Managed to stop at The Dog House, that place we and Dad stopped at on the way home in 2011. I got two hot dogs, one each with mustard and relish, Mom got a few dogs and also a small tub of fries to share with me, and we both got a banana milkshake each (they were out of cake batter, my first flavor of choice).
-
Further down the road, we wound up behind a car featuring some girl with an oversized, thong-clad butt (never cared for thongs). Mom took then to bring up that butt song from the other day that someone was playing, which I clarified to her then was a pastiche of lyrics from various songs, before asking me about those dance shorts I went on to show Brian and David (I told her they seemed amused at least initially, and that I might've dragged that out a bit too long for them).
On that note, here are those girls' wiki pages in question (the games themselves probably do not involve dancing at all). (Ages all unspecified; pretty sure those wouldn't come up under anything besides "Bio", so they could easily be young adults.)
Zhu Yuan
Kafka (In-game (actual 3D model?))
Jane Doe (A bit awkward how her tail points sideward so stiffly in the short, unlike Nicole's or even Silver Wolf's straps.)
Belle
Feixiao (In-game)
Topaz (In-game)
Nicole Demara (Admittedly, with bikinis as the main exception, and while not so gross like thongs, I do prefer one or the other between someone's belly or chest for exposure.)
Silver Wolf (In-game)
Anby Demara (Not sure why the green parts were changed to orange for the short, but everything does match otherwise; an in-game palette swap, maybe?)

4:30 when we arrived home, and already getting dark. Mom had asked me in advance to sweep some leaves off the base of the front steps after I have a nap upon arriving home, but that was assuming it would still be light out. Too dark to see into a shed for a broom and snow shovel, went in to retrieve a flashlight, and Mom suggested I take care of it today instead and just put a rake I had still retrieved into the boathouse, where I went on to find the other two things anyway. Swept just enough to move the leaves out of our way for whenever we go outside.
Did a few things on my desktop, before going to bed within a quarter to 6, even earlier than usual after having had to stay awake for so long on two coffees en route.
